Unlocking the device is another matter entirely. So, the reason this jailbreak wasn't broken, is most likely due to Apple's previously stated position. Sure, some future version of the software may eventually break the jailbreak. But I think the fact that this jailbreak still works is proof that Apple was true to it's word. But if you're going to take the next step and actually unlock your iPhone from the AT&T store, all bets are off.
