Need to unlock but you have baseband 2.30? Or you have baseband 2.30 and Fuzzy won’t downgrade you because you have a bootloader that’s too new? A sim adapter is your only option. Not all sim adapters are the same. Many have signal strength issues or problems keeping signal lock. I have personally tested the Gevey 3g and it worked very well on my US 3g on Tmobile.

I have some Gevey-3G sim cards that unlock your iPhone 3G for those of you that cannot use YellowSn0w due to baseband or upgraded iPhones. I have personally tested this simcard on TMobile on a 3G iPhone running 2.30 baseband. Everything works except airplane mode. It was very easy to install and required no cutting of the simcard. Just pop it in with your simcard and wait 60-120 seconds and you are active. To get data, you may have to enable data roaming.
