I also tried Data Blocker but experienced the same problem. I have been using pay as you go sim cards from Asda & Talk Mobile in the UK both of which use the Vodafone UK network. I also tried Fake Apn with the same problem. No specific Apn details are listed when using these Sim cards. My iPhone is 3g 3.0. Hope this information helps.
