That would happen if you receive more than 1 mail every 15 mins.

Push is an outlook protocol, thus defined by MS, not apple or bberry, also different implementations should not differ a lot in battery usage, unless there s a bug or it s simply badly implemented... The point is that:

1. iPhone laks battery in the 1st place (compared to most bberies and WN phones)

2. With a full implementation of Push, like Apple should have done, you can define which folder to sync, and which folders not to. If you have server side rules that will route most of your (supposingly unimportant) emails to non-synced folders, then you get real time email on important stuff without draining your battery. That does require the end user understanding that concept to be setup properly though... You can do that on a bbery (I suppose) and definitely can on a WM device.

I still live with it and use my iPhone, but we got the right to be pissed at apple for doing half things ;p

well .. blackberry push doesn't drain battery. Apple's pseudo-push does indeed drain a lot of battery.

In fact, my battery life has increased about 25% since I turned off push (only use MobileMe push, no mail, just contacts and bookmarks) and set the fetch to 15 minutes.

so for me 15 min fetch uses less battery than push.

LOL @ the name. uncomplete push implementation is one of the many BIG apple screw up imho. Now this app should be called FetchMod (completely useless tbh)

If the server supports push then use push however most http servers such as Yahoo and Hotmail do not support push therefore fetch is required. You use them in parallel one doesn't come instead of the other.

Great Information.

I figured that,i too have changed my fetch 15 mins then back to 30,and i have noticed some battery drainage.

What do you suggest? to have the push on and the fetch off? or vice versa?

Thanks again!
