Great! Very powerful tool!
I wanna use other user to connect samba. So, I Added “mobile” using smbpasswd:
smbpasswd -a mobile
but, I always got “You have not permission to use the network resources”. What should I do?

Hello. I want to create an WiFi Hotspot with my Iphone (not Windows adhoc) instantly to share Files from iphone to Windows over Samba, but without sharing iPhones internet connection and without using an other wifi hotspot.

So far i tried with PDAnet and MyWi, also iOS Personal Hotspot. But opening \\ doesn’t work in Windows.

I’m not sure, if i need OpenSSH for that?

Can someone help on that?

WiFiFoFum
The WiFiFoFum surveying client is currently available on several platforms including iPhone, Windows Mobile and Android. The technology itself also provides support for ad-hoc peer-to-peer data communications such as in our WiFiTunes application.

WiFiFoFum scans for 802.11 wireless (WiFi) networks and displays information about each network it detects; including: SSID, MAC, RSSI (signal strength), channel, AP mode, security mode and available transmission rates.

WiFiFoFum’s radar view provides a graphical representation of nearby WiFi access points. The radar positions the APs with those with the highest signal strength near the centre to those which have a low signal strength positioned on the periphery.

WiFiFoFums nearby view shows open access points and the distance from the users current position. By selecting one users can be guided to Internet access via WiFiFoFum’s built in map.

WiFiFoFum also supports wardriving by creating logs of access point locations as they are discov ered. These KML logs can then be viewed directly on the iPhone’s map application or emailed so that you may view them on your desktop or laptop. To view emailed logs just paste the link in the email into the Google Maps site.

WiFiFoFum is a well established application with a substantial user base built up over several years. WiFiFoFum is currently available for Windows, Windows Mobile, iPhone and Mac OS X.
