We just released the iOS 7 version of PhotoAlbums+ which enhances the stock Photos app on iPhones/iPod Touchs and iPads. First it allows you to actually move photos between albums instead of just creating copies. Then it adds much needed privacy. With PhotoAlbums+ a private albums tab is added to the Photos app which keeps all your private photos in albums. This album list can be secured with a password and each private album can be protected with an individual password as well. It also allows you to prevent iOS from automatically uploading photos taken with the camera to iCloud while providing you the option to do so manually. Last but not least it improves mapping of photos when accessed via USB on PCs: You can access all non private albums as folders via USB which allows you to copy whole folders at once instead of searching your camera roll for the right pictures.

Firewall iP, the first and only Firewall for the iPhone, got an update to 1.499

The changes are all in the background, but massive. It improves stability, memory usage and speed.

Lockdown Pro — Password protect your applications –

Lockdown Pro is the best way to make sure your iPod or iPhone is secure when letting other people use it. If you have used Lockdown before then this is a huge upgrade. I completely remade the application, and made sure it works on the 3.x firmware and on iOS 4. It will run on any iPod or iPhone but not yet on the iPad, I will add that support in an update soon.

Now what sets Lockdown Pro apart from other locking applications is in all of the features included and pending updates with even more. Some of those features include:

*Lockdown Pro’s settings are now in your devices settings application! No more extra app filling up your home screen.

*You can choose between a numeric or an alphabetic password.

*Custom Passwords are available, which means that you can set different passwords for different locked applications.

*Delay Lock. This means that when you enter your password for an application then all of your applications will stay unlocked until your device is locked.

*You can lock every application. That means you can lock hidden applications, multi-tasked applications, or any in folders.

*Lockdown Pro is now faster. It takes up much less memory than Lockdown did.

*Stability improvements as well as new graphics and more!

Firewall iP, the first and only Firewall for the iPhone, got an update to 1.39

The changes are all in the background, but massive. It improves stability, memory usage and speed. The beta testers are all impressed how quick it is now, and you will be too.

Changelog 1.39:

- improved stability (fixes for example an issue with Sonic Winter Games)

This will be the last update for a few weeks (unless hot-fixes are needed). I’ve to prepare for exams. After that I’ll go back adding a few ideas to FiP.

- changed *host/*.host to *domain/*.domain

this has also been requested. for example: if the popup shows you static.google.com as hostname this will create *google.com/*.google.com (instead of the previous *static.google.com/*.static.google.com)

- fixed a bug in 1.31

due to compiling with the iPhoneOS SDK 3.2 beta there was a bug in 1.31, which would cause to crash as soon as you selected a list. if you want to read more about the issue with the 3.2beta SDK: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2152321/weird-uitableviewcell-loading-exception

new in 1.30:

- set rules in *host- and *.host-format in the popup

usually you would set a rule for a hostname like google.com. but if you choose *host you’ll set a rule for all hostnames which end with (in this example) google.com (xyz.google.com, …). *.hosts adds a rule only for subdomains.

- option to block connections of specific apps if NOT on WiFi

this will help you save you money. if you don’t want any app to access the internet while you are using 3G/EDGE just enable this option. (Note: there is a also a global switch for that in the (i)nfo view which will override app-specific settings)

- many improvements for UDP connections

this will fix issues with Skype and a few other apps which rely on UDP
