I released 2.99-3 2.99-4 with 2 small changes:
1) Fixed so you cannot type in the mobile substrate text box.
2) Added option to hide the hold indicators. If you dislike the new little hand icons indicating which icons support hold action, you can turn them off in the more app. Just go and disable the Shows Hold Icons option. It defaults to ON.

I released SBSettings 2.99-2. Here are the changes. Those of you that were having wifi issues should go get it since I reverted the iPhone OS 2 wifi toggle back to its previous code base.
Changes: (Note: this is a v3.0 release candidate).
- v2.99-2
- More App: Fixed issue with text box on 2.x mobile substrate screen.
- Both: Option switch in more app and support for 24 hour time display (by request).
- Both: Option switch in more app and support for toggling between / and . for date separator (by request).
- DYLIB: Moved Wifi toggle code back to 1.x version method for 2.x iPhones. I couldn’t reproduce any wifi toggle errors, but now it’s back to how it used to be anyway. The new code is only used on 3.0.
- DYLIB: Added a little indicator
to the bottom right of each icon that supports hold action. (Themers, this icon is themable. Just add a Hold.png in your theme. It should be 19×19. If your icon is missing, the one out of Default theme is used). - DYLIB: Added a quick popup to wifi toggle on the hold action to indicate on which access point you are connected. (Sorry, but figuring out how to select access points will require a lot more research. Remember none of this stuff is documented by Apple.)
- DYLIB: Updated processes toggle to not close the toggle each time you kill an app with it.
- DYLIB: Fixed springboard crash when holding wifi toggle for 1 second on 2.x.
- DYLIB: Prevent fast respring if iPhone is locked. Periodically, people post news and videos that you can get to icons and bypass the security lock. This feature is disabled by default and I only added it because users wanted it. So it is an option that you have to enable in the settings. I don’t consider this a security issue since you have to actually enable the feature. In either case, I patched the respring bypass to allow my email inbox to quiet down.

Hey BB Just thought id let you know cause i havnt heard it mentioned yet. In The more tab/MobileSubstrate Addons Tab up at the top text you can touch the text and the keyboard pops up and you can edit the text. Is that supposed to be thta way?

I havent used my camera in a couple of days and today when I use it the colors are all invered and distorted showing a spectrum of green and pink. I am wondering if this is an issue with SBSettings 2.99x as I didnt have this problem before updating to the 2.99 series and haven’t bumped or banged my iPhone.

BigBoss, I think you should just make the icon more discreet than how it is now. I would rather have a small glowing circle or something like that next to the icons insteak of the bulky hand that’s there now.

It wasn’t actually supposed to be that way but it isn’t a bug or issue either. When he put that text there, he just used a simple text box. That’s an easy way to insert text, the only problem with it is that the OS assumes it should be editable, so a text box pops up. Just don’t touch it and you won’t even know that happens! ;)

This is working without the properly patched jailbreak? You would need sys-cmds as well. You should in fact install all the *-cmds packages.

That indicates the hold action is available. If you dislike it, make your own theme with its own Hold.png

The statusbar updates every 2.5 seconds, the one in the window every 5. There could be variances at the moment of sample.

I’d just like to report something I noticed, I donno if it’s a bug:
Everytime I turn ON/OFF “3G”, “EDGE”, or “PLANE”, I have a red empty badge on the “Phone App”.
It’s here for 2 sec or so (time for the toggle to operate), then it vanishes.
It’s not annoying, but I never had it before the 2.99-2.

WiFi always ON after reboot no longer happens. One little glitch though: the SSH button indicates “On” although the SSH is turned off, e.g. by having used the program “Toggle SSH”. Only after hitting the Refresh button is the correct status of the SSH shown.

Hmmmm…again! Now when I tought I was able to swipe down my brand new SBSettings at LockScreen with out Intelliscreen go away under, it´s back to was it was before. :-( The IS screen goes away!? BUT! Sometimes not!? Is this something somebody else have too??

I’m using Intelliscreen v2.90.19 and its working perfectly with SBSettings. I’m not experiencing the anomaly you’re describing.

Try rebooting. This is also not an SBSettings issue as the code has not changed for bluetooth and you indicate its also not working via settings. I just tested on 2.2.1 and 3.0 and its fine here as well.

Hi, Ive downloaded today 2.99-2 this morning and everything seemed ok (Wifi was actually Off)… or at least that’s hat I thought until I picked my phone and it was hotter than usual and battery had been remarkably low after only 2 hours of standby (has been chargin up all night)…
Is it possible there’s still some issues with the Wifi toggle in iPhone 2G? Am I just going mad?

BB has said several times now that v2.99 will NOT fully work with the 3.0 firmware until the proper (official) jailbreak has been released, and that won’t be until 3.0 firmware has been released officially.

BB when activating SBSettings “More” option at the lockscreen and causing it to respring by changing an option, it will respring into the springboard rather than to the lockscreen thereby bypassing the Passcode screen. Would it be possible have it respring back to the lockscreen?

awesome work there, love the SBSetting, haven’t touched the BossPref for months now. Just noticed 2 things with v2.99-3 when the Extra Option for Statusbar Date is turned on.
First one is minor, there are no AM/PM designation in the status bar, maybe this is the desired look?
Second, when going from one time-zone to another, the iPhone clock will automatically change, but the time in the status bar is still showing the time for the original time-zone. I haven’t tried to change the time manually and see how that affects the status bar.

Download one of the backgrounder badge themes from Cydia to change it. Activate the theme through winterboard. If you don’t like it what the badge has been changed to by the theme you can ssh into your phone, go to the theme folder and replace the theme icon with a transparent icon. Adobe or other photo editing software can help you make a transparent icon. It’s not an SBSettings deal, it’s from backgrounder.

No, the more app has no way to know its in lock screen. I really don’t want to have to spend hours tracking down every way to get in on the lock screen. If you guys dont like the security hole then disable lock screen window.

Damn! It mean if I need to open SBS from LS I have to unlock and go in to SB and back to LS to have the IS back. Damn.

Unfortunately, Intelliscreen is not compatible with most plugins since they pretty much do their own thing and don’t even use mobile substrate.

I updated to the new version on Monday. Ever since my iPhone boots up into safemode. I don’t have intelliscreen installed. I tried to restore it and then reinstall sbsettings and I still go into safe mode each time. If I uninstall it. It boots up fine. Does anyone know how I can resolve this. It’s my favorite app. Thanks.

I think I’ve just experienced what you’re talking about. What I discovered what that when you open SBSettings and Intelliscreen disappears, just hit the iPhone’s “Home” botton and Intelliscreen pops right back up.

Hello BigBoss, would be possible in a near future have an Edge switch conditioned to a certain provider?
In example, I mean for carrier code 33333 Edge would be ON, while for carrier code 55555 Edge would be automatically switched OFF on roaming?
That would be great to avoid unwanted expensive data charge on carrier roaming.

I have noticed a small problem under More -> Mobile substrate Addons. For example, I had clippy installed when I installed the new version of SBSettings, however, I have since removed Clippy. For some reason, Clippy is still showing in the Mobile Substrate List (Along with other apps I have uninstalled). Is this by design?

If they are showing up there then the mobile substrate files are still in the mobile substrate folder. All that screen does is enumerate the folder. It has no way to know if they’re installed or uninstalled and it does not keep memory. It’s possible you first disabled them, which renames the files, and then uninstalled them, which means you have them there forever since dpkg couldnt find the files it installed to remove them.

I wanted to suggest a possible feature…
Swipe up in the bottom left or right corners near the memory/Internet ip area to close SBSettings. You already swipe to open, it seems more fluid to also swipe to close instead of clicking the tiny button in the corner.
Just a thought, again thanks for the amazing settings control.

Just wanted to let you know an interesting observation. I had a jailbroken 3g 2.2.1 with SBSettings 2.99-4 installed and had my iPhone replaced under warranty by Apple. Updated it to 3.0 GM and restored all my data just expecting to wait until official jailbreak next week or so. But oddly after my data restore, my un-jailbroken 3.0 3G continued to display 3 of the SBSettings features. The battery number meter, Wi-Fi number toggle and cell strength number toggle. Seems to be saved in my iPhone backup from iTunes.
Other than going back to 2.2.1 factory settings, jailbreaking and uninstalling sbsettings do you have any ideas?

I’m having some trouble with the AutoLock Toggle since upgrading to v2.99-2. I noticed after turning the toggle ‘off’ that my iPhone would Lock after my default time of 1 minute regardless. After some further testing I noticed that after I turned the toggle off, when I go back into SBSettings any time afterwards, the AutoLock toggle is back on again. I since installed BossPrefs as double-check and the AutoLock toggle DOES work in BossPrefs though. If I have the AutoLock toggle off in BossPrefs, it correctly shows as ‘off’ in SBSettings.
I’ve tried completely uninstalling the AutoLock toggle and SBSettings and re-installing with v2.99-4 but the above symptoms are still present.
Any suggestions?

I think sbsettings killed my 3G radio. Worked great up until Sat. when I used the “Phone” switch to put my phone in Airplane mode. Now when 3G is enabled, my phone gets “No Signal.” Turn off 3G and Edge comes up fine.

I’m using SBsettings on 3.0, whenever I click More to change settings “INITIALIZING” appears at the bottom of the settings screen, then after about 30 seconds SBsettings disappears and I’m back in the Springboard. I’m also having the same kind of trouble running BossPrefs (it just tries to initialize and then crashes to the Springboard). Is there anything I can do to diagnose/fix this?

Im also having the same issues with bossprefs and SBsettings..The more selection goes to initializing and then hangs. I believe it was working the first few times after the install. Reinstalling and removing the preference plist dont change things either.

try to disable your wifi and then start the programs. only thing that worked for me!

“INITIALIZING” crash, when trying to Set Toggles.
I had this happening to me too, and followed @Whitewolf99′s suggestion:
1. Open up SBSettings.
2. Turn WiFi OFF
3. Tap > Set Toggles
4. Success (for me at least)

Me too! Happened after installing I23 spoof and rock. Took them off and reinstalled sbsettings, still crashes at INITIALIZING. I’m using v2.99-5

Hi,
First of all let me thank you for the excellent work that big boss has been doing! Were would i be without some of the apps we have been producing for the iphone…
I’ve recently updated the iphone with Sbsettings 3.0 and i tried to update the sbsettings toggles to. But unfortunately it won’t install, I get error’s and it stops…
Do you know what’s causing this?

Guys, I need help, My IPHONE 3g, 16gb, it works fine with ultrasn0w and jail break, but the problem is when someone calls I can answer the phone but I can’t end the call. If I call some one the “END CALL” button does show up, but not with the Incoming calls… any ideas?… Need Help !!!!!!

Updated SBToggles today and Cydia now refuses to launch. Any ideas?

hi! i have an iPhone 2G with the 3.0 OS. i have just installed the SBSettings from Cydia and Nothing happens, i dont see any icon on the springboard,and on the install screen there was this msg:
couldnt stat(“/System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.bigboss.sbsettings.plist”):No suchfile or directory
any ideas? also when i check the packages on Cydia, the SBSettings icon turns into an icon wiht “SB” and a red cross on the upper left corner.
please, help me!

When going from one time-zone to another, the iPhone clock will automatically change, but the time in the status bar still shows the time for the original time-zone.
I travel a ton so this is a huge problem for me.

is there any plans to get the toggle screen scrollable? There is so many good toggles coming up, 12 is just too little

SBSettings are great.
Now if it would only alpha sort when enumerating applications, that would be really special. It is really a pain to keep going back looking for something you’ve missed.
(Sorry if this has been covered before…I’m pretty new at this)

Help! I turned off sbsettings and i can’t swipe to get it back. How do I get sbsettings to show up again?

Hello. I have been using SBSettings for a while but somehow turned it off. Now I can’t figure out how to get it to show up again. I can’t swipe or use 2 fingers to get to it. I’ve looked on the internet to find out how to fix it but found nothing. How do I get it back? Thanks.
