Multifl0w is a Palm Pre-like multitasking interface for the iPhone/iPod Touch. (jailbreak only!). The idea was inspired by the Palm Pre multitasking interface and a video posted by Ocean Observations that showed a Coverflow-like interface. Multifl0w is somewhat like Kirikae in that they are both interfaces for the Backgrounder app. If you haven’t seen backgrounder or Kirikae already, I’d recommend checking them out on Cydia. They are both great programs by ashikase.
Multifl0w should be in the Cydia store within a few days, keep tabs on multifl0w.com for updates!

Any option to change the shortcut which invokes multifl0w? Double-tap home is used for lots of other things, most noteably Music Controls. And I think voice control or something on the 3GS (I don’t have a 3GS).

you should get a look to kirikae, on the first double click it shows processes, another double click will show music controls. that would be nice.

Looks cool, Just clicked your homepage link and see complaints about Saurik’s response time. That’s too bad, but please keep pursuing a Cydia release. I personally will not use Rock, even if they are more responsive to you, I don’t like that they force you to install their extensions on the phone. That’s kept me from purchasing at least one app that is only available on Rock.

Yea i totally agree! I hate rock extensions! I love the way this app looks and would love to pay for it as long as it doesnt use rock extensions. If it does its a no go for me either

Since I started using Backgrounder, I thought something like this would be useful although in a more limited fashion. I would have liked to see a swipe on the bottom screen to see which processes were running with the option to move freely back and forth with selecting the icon. I’m always worried about moving parts and thought maybe a swipe across the lower part of the screen (near the dock icons) could be utilized for the same function. Still, this is something interesting and I agree with others about having the ability to shut down running programs much like how we close down multiple Safari windows.

This thing is visually cool, but the complaints about not being able to shut down backgrounded apps from the interface got me thinking that I often shut down backgrounded apps I’d forgotten were running with the Processes button in SBSettings. Throw in the requests for just a swipe along the bottom of the screen and it occurred to me that it would just be nice if from that Processes screen within SBSettings you could either kill an app, or switch to it.

I’d rather have it come up by holding the home button down for a second instead.. I don’t like double-tap because sometimes I don’t tap it fast enough and it closes the app instead of bringing up the backgrounder.

What’s wrong with Rock? It loads and updates a lot faster than Cydia and backups your packages.

Thanks for the reference. I didn’t know there were other programs. I also looked up Kirikae, a freeware option for app switching. The interface isn’t as fancy, but it does what I want. Now if there was only a way to get Categories to bounce back to the folder instead of the Springboard when I close a program that was in a category folder…

Okay. How dumb is that? Kirikae was already mentioned above. I tried mQuickDo and I had trouble with it recognizing my swipes. I wish Kirikae would use swipes (maybe at the bottom) so that I can avoid pushing buttons often. It has already be stated that this feature wouldn’t be supported.

Following Saurik on twitter I learned he was on a trip in Europe. So perhaps thats why he could not respond. In the meantime the package is showing in Cydia too.

Is it just me or does it not seem to like mail? Mail almost never has a snapshot, just text saying [mail].
I’d also like to see a swipe to close.
Battery/CPU usage/RAM usage all seem very nominal (as advertised) so that is good!

What if you shake the iPhone to access Multifl0w instead of double taping the home button? I think that would be even more user friendly and cool. It would be like “shuffling your backgrouded card deck” ;)
