Manually Save your SHSH 4.3.1 With Tiny Umbrella Now

Urgent action required for anyone that likes jailbreaking 4.3.1, 4.3.2, or 4.3.3 and wants to do so in the near future.
For those of you unaware of the Apple firmware update policy, you can only restore firmware version that Apple approves. When you restore in iTunes, it goes to Apple’s web site and verifies if you are eligible for this specific version. This was solved by Cydia storing your SHSH (the is it ok to restore this version request response from Apple). This has been ok for the last year.
For current 4.3.2 SHSH, use the latest tiny umbrella version (same instructions) (Windows) and (OSX).
Watch the firmwareumbrella website for a 4.3.3 capable version and use it when you can!
To do this, go to advanced, uncheck “request shsh from cydia” and uncheck “set hosts to cydia on exit”. Then restart umbrella, go to show all shsh’s and save them all. In the logs you should see 4.3.1 come down. This will allow you to restore 4.3.1 or 4.3.2 through umbrella’s tss server if you need to.
Cydia’s SHSH system will hopefully be back up soon. When it is, I will post about it on this site. (Note: your older shsh’s are still safely stored in Cydia and are not lost).
Alternative to this is to install iSHSHit from Cydia, back up your SHSH and then email it to yourself. From there you can copy it to tinu umbrella’s SHSH folder.

Guys read the instructions, make sure you uncheck the “request SHSH from cydia” in the advanced tab. If you don’t, tinyumbrella will request shsh thru cydia’s server, which is blocked by apple

Your not really missing anything on 4.3.1 or 4.3.2! I find there is more battery drain then on 4.2.1
I like the multitouch gestures but besides that “personal hotspot” is the only other new feature and there is several jailbreak tethering apps that work just as good or better. Alot of winterboard themes are broken by IOS 4.3 aswell.

If your already jailbroken it’s not going to affect you untill the next jailbreak if you dont have shsh saved then you may not be able to update to the next big jailbreak ); but will not effect your current jailbreak (;

What do u mean keep it going? If ur all JB’d up then u r good to go. No more steps except what the title of this thread says. Open cydia and in home screen click “make my life easier”(if u haven’t already done so). This will save the FW version that u currently r on and any new Firmware releases by apple(basically if u need to restore etc, then because cydia(make my life easier button u clicked earlier) saves ur current jb FW(firmware) u can always restore back(thru cydia’s by changing host file, or tiny umbrella) to any of ur saved shah blobs that r jailbreakabke(JB) 4 life. Trust me do it and u r golden. Also download tiny umbrella(newest version so u can kick out of recovery mode when idle device finishes the jb and u get an error code. Or u can do what i did, because I’m running Mac osc 10.4.8(which isn’t supported with the newest tiny umbrella version sux) and use an earlier version of tiny umbrella(google tiny umbrella’s compatibility for ur cpu’s operating systems and get that to back up ur shah blobs. Then when restoring back to ur jb FW of choice get “recboot” to kick out of recovery mode. Follow what I said exactly and u will be JB’d 4 life, but make sure to get tiny umbrella as a back up plan(for times like these when cydia’s servers r down. Hope I clarified everything. I wish pol would have done it for me. I had to Learn my skills the hard way. Enjoy. Chris

I have a good suggestion for this issue, user can download their available .shsh from apple and then cydia open a link to let those .shsh backup personally can upload it to the cydia sever, I believe it is an useful way to solve this problem temporary at this stage.
Hope cydia and tinyumbrella will have a consider on it

I jailbroke my 3GS and was installing a variety of apps n themes. For some reason yesterday, when I go to charge my phone, the charging screen and the icon don’t show that the phone is charging. When in fact it is charging. Everything works great except my phone won’t show me it’s charging unless I use a 3rd party battery app. Any fix on this??

Wow, Apple. I paid for my iPod, so I can do whatever I want. That includes downgrading and jailbreaking. And now you block Cydia’s servers from getting SHSH blobs.

One thing I know for sure, if Apple won’t change and stop with their closed system rules it will fuck them up, Android is not there yet but they r catching up pretty fast and I love my iPhone it’s Apple that are fucking up their own customers and here is another story I read about today, It was just found up that there are hundreds of Apps in the App store that spy on us, the thing is that one of Apple rules is that they will not let any App pass inspection if it spy’s on their customers but it’s all bull just one example from hundreds is TextPluss great App I use it every day but the App sends them 13 things about us, for now nobody knows what are they doing with the information but think about it guys, we know what google does with it and it’s ok but what if you buy an App from some one unknown ????? Any way just venting a little and if Apple will fall they can only blame themselves !!!!!!

Ok listen guys if u ever jailbroke before then u r SHSH is saved on Cydia the problem is with 4.3.x but the rest works fine I just downgraded using tinyumbrella requesting my 4.2.1 SHSH from Cydia and it worked fine ! I also saved on my PC all the SHSH firmware that Cydia had for all my iDevices then I went to Advanced mod in TinyUmbrella and unmarked “Set Hosts to Cydia on Exit” and also unmarked “Request SHSH From Cydia” All I left on is “Save All Available SHSH” then I clicked on “Apply Changes” now this is imported you must exit TinyUmbrella then reopen it, in fact I went as far of rebooting my computer then I reopened TinyUmbrella. Make sure your Device is plugged in and click on “Save SHSH” this went right to Apple and I got both 4.3.1 and 4.3.2 SHSH added to my list so Apple still signing 4.3.1 SHSH for those of u that where worried that u missed the train ( they r still testing 4.3.2 in other countries and other Languages and getting feedbacks which gives us a small window to save 4.3.1 SHSH. So all of u should do it as soon as possible, one more comment and I’m done, For u guys who didn’t read about 4.3.2, google it or go to the Apple site one of the main reasone for that new firmware (4.3.2) was for fixing the BATTERY Drain problem on 4.3.1 firmware.
P.s:
For those of u that r on 4.2.1 I would stay for now only make sure u save your SHSH with TinyUmbrella to all your SHSH including 4.2.1, u can also save the SHSH for the firmware that u r on right now by installing iSHSHit from Cydia.

I’m geussing that u upgraded your baseband to 6.15 to be able to unlock your phone to use with a different provider other then AT$T, any way about the baseband there is nothing u can do it will stay the same so you will always be able to unlock, about the rest make sure u save your SHSH with TinyUmbrella I just don’t understand what kind off help u r asking for ? 4.1 is one of the best but if u want to upgrade u can without fear there is a jailbreak for 4.2.1, 4.3.1, & 4.3.2 redsnow just upgraded to jailbreak 4.3.2 so you really can’t go wrong, saving SHSH is so u can downgrade your firmware if u are not happy with the new one, but it does not effect the baseband you can not downgrade it, also your iPhone is 3G and it’s not powerful enough for 4.x.x firmware it works but can not handle all the extra options so because I don’t know what u r asking I would recommend for u to stay on 4.1 and use TinyUmbrella to save your SHSH for now till I know what u want to do, in fact when I got my iPhone 4 I gave my iPhone 3G to my little sister after I downgraded it to 3.2.2 firmware which I think is one of the best every thing works perfectly from Cydia on that firmware and it runs faster too!

Just an FYI. SHSH blobs are only necessary when downgrading firmware from 4.3.x back to a firmware that is older and you use iTunes to do it. It is not necessary to save this if you are already jailbroken on any firmware and have no intentions of downgrading or upgrading. If you upgrade, you do not need SHSH blobs for 4.3.2 firmware as iTunes is still accepting it. You can save your SHSH for 4.3.2 if when upgrading in the future to 4.4, for example, and you don’t like it, you’ll be able to use iTunes to downgrade back to 4.3.2.

You still need to save shsh if you want to ever restore to any custom ipsw ex.4.0,4.1,4.2, and so on. Sn0wbreeze is only need it to keep your baseband if your iPhone is unlocked.

I never use it and to be honest, don’t know how. I have ifile and use netatalk if I need to transfer big files and so forth.

If you have 4.2.1 unlocked on baseband 6.15.00 don’t update to 4.3 or above yet. There’s is no big changes. 4.2.1 is best right now

A solution to downgrade would be iTunes 8.1 and ANY iPhone/iPod in dfu mode. (apple osx only as far as I’ve tested) downgrades anything as it doesnt check with apple about anything.
Just thought I’d give this hint as I’ve tried it and it works.

To those complaining about Apple supposedly trying to stop jailbreaking, why are you raging? If everyone jailbroke their iDevices then they would lose money, such as the apps from the app store. I have a huge prob, ANYTHING i install doesn’t instal… Cydia, AppStore, and even installous. When I do it on the AppStore it just says “unable to download application, download available on iTunes” or some shit… Help :( (happening for a week tried restoring from backup)(didn’t work)

Without sounding rude. I have had nothing but issues with downgrading from both 4.3.1 and 4.3.2 with both cydia and tu. Kept getting error 1013 but with the GP JB it solved the issue without having to edit any host files for iTunes or tu. Many thanks guys.

My SHSHs weren’t saved for 4.3.1 but iSHSHit was able to find it. I emailed it to myself and manually added it to tiny umbrella. Now happily unlocked on 4.3.1 with my 3Gs

Just don’t update your phone on iTunes. If it says there is a newer version hit cancel. If your untethered it should continue to work no matter what as long as you don’t update.

A few yeas ago I was new to jailbreaking and I actually paid for one and the way it worked was changing a file on iTunes and it worked perfectly what it did was saying yes to any firmware without connecting to apple. Today I know better then paying but I read an article where they ask surik why he don’t hack iTunes and his answer was there is no resone for it. What I’m trying to say is that either he gets paid not too or he is scared from the law.

That’s not true… You can manually sign it by opening the shsh blob in a word document and changing the 4.3.1 iOS to 4.2.1 iOS (along with the code following ) by retyping it then save the file ( be sure to save the original in case you boo-boo:) . You can also copy and paste the info from 4.2 to the new one:) . By doing this it will force it to install…..

Reading all these comments truly frightens me…they come off like a gift for failure. I’m glad at least I know how to use TinyUmbrella, and also that once Apple stops signing a particular SHSH, there’s no going back to that firmware.
For those that truly want to learn, everythingicafe.com has a wealth of knowledge related to jailbreaking, as does redmondpie.com. Use them.

When I look for basic info, I find many things that talk about how something new is just like something that used to exist with a list of exceptions. That doesn’t help!
