I have released an updated toggle pack that updates the Wifi and Phone toggles for FW 2.2. If you do not have FW 2.2, then you will find no change. For all of you that had issues on 2.2 with these toggles, I hope it helped. The toggles should behave just like they did on 2.1 now. They are both much faster and don’t take 30-60 seconds while safari is running. Yay!
Update November 24, 2008: The 1.0.3-1 update in Cydia is for the “more” app only. It solves the blank apps on dock issue. Just go to the more app, dock icons, and any blank apps should be cleared. This was caused by one of the following:
1) You added a dock icon then uninstalled the app.
2) You had dock icons, updated to 2.2 FW or restored your FW, jailbroke again, restored your iTunes backup, and it restored the settings for the app where you had dock icons. But you don’t yet have those apps installed.
Update November 24, 2008 #2: Enough of you convinced me there was a problem with EDGE toggle and you were right. The EDGE toggle did not change but the airplane toggle did (phone toggle) and this was how I made EDGE changes take effect. I would set EDGE on or off, then toggle airplane mode off then on to have them take effect. Since airplane changed in last revision this broke your EDGE toggle. Sorry everyone. v1.3.5 of the sbsettings toggle pack fixes it.

It’s all working properly for me now! Thanks BB you are the man!
November 24th, 2008 at 1:58 am
Hi there: I would like to know if there is the option to add the e-mail toggle to SBSettings and an airplane toggle that turns off at the same time phone and wifi as it happens on BossPrefs….
Thank you so much!!!!
November 24th, 2008 at 2:01 am
Hi BigBoss,
I searched for this toggle pack in cydia but cudnt find it.
Although im still on 2.1, i wud like to install it and back it up via AptBackup before restoring to 2.2
Also, why isnt this toggle pack distributed as part of ‘sbsettingstoggles’ update instead of a separate add-on?
Finally, since im using Windows and can only use QuickPwn 2.2 to jailbreak/unlock my 2g/2.1/8GB iPhone, i wont be able to creata a custom ipsw of 2.2
Due to this, in order to use the “Restore” option of AptBackup, after a clean restore of 2.2, i will have to restore my current 2.1 iTunes backup?
But havent u previously warned in all of ur upgrade guides that u shud ALWAYS setup a new iphone and not restore a previous version’s iTunes backup coz it will cause instability of the firmware and also crash many apps
So what shud i do now….shud i risk instability of the firmware by restoring an older version backup or face the cumbersome task of manually installing each and every cydia app, after a clean restore of 2.2?
Thanx, in advance.
November 24th, 2008 at 2:42 am
Ok, i take that back regarding the toggle pack being a separate add-on coz i just refreshed cydia and got an update 1.3.4 for ‘sbsettingstoggles’.
but i hope u can answer the remaining questions in my above post, BigBoss.
November 24th, 2008 at 2:44 am
Thanks BigBoos this works great.
November 24th, 2008 at 2:46 am
Airplane mode is in there. Click “more” and set the toggles you want
November 24th, 2008 at 3:14 am
When a toggle for VPN?
November 24th, 2008 at 3:15 am
Hi,
thanks for your fantastci job !
ANy hope we get a GPS / Location service Switch anytime soon ?
Thx
MWNN
November 24th, 2008 at 3:16 am
yes very fast now! Thanks bb
November 24th, 2008 at 4:10 am
Can we get an autolock toggle please?
November 24th, 2008 at 4:14 am
I see Rip Dev is copying BB…. LOL!!!
November 24th, 2008 at 4:17 am
The airplane you ask for will never happen because it requires other toggles to refresh their states. If you hit airplane mode and wifi stayed on, it would throw everything into disarray. There is too much of a performance hit to try to deal with that, so we will not be adding it. If you want airplane mode, tap phone, wifi. It’s no big deal you can tap them one right after the other and takes less than a second of effort.
November 24th, 2008 at 4:29 am
Thanks. now it works !
November 24th, 2008 at 4:30 am
You are GREAT!!!
THX =)
November 24th, 2008 at 4:54 am
BB can we get a “ssh on at boot” setting like in bossprefs? I miss this functionality and ofc sbsettings overrides the thing I’m talking about in bossprefs
November 24th, 2008 at 5:18 am
Hi ! Thanks for your great job !
if i had suggestions to do for a wishlist it would be:
- autolock toggle
- auto correct toggle
- VPN toggle
- geo localisation toggle
- safari DL toggle
Thanks again
November 24th, 2008 at 5:43 am
When I reboot the phone openssh always remains “ON”. Also, brightness toggle doesn’t show the current position of my brightness, it is always at least position. Sorry for my english by the way… Thanks
November 24th, 2008 at 5:55 am
umm you have to manually re-install cydia apps anyway regardless of whether you restore with itunes backup.
November 24th, 2008 at 6:10 am
I cannot find SSH, i’ve enabled it but it does not display.
What about add in the same window that appears when slide instead of iPhone’s name: WifiIP …
the dock applications ?
November 24th, 2008 at 6:17 am
100% Agree with the following as a priority:
- auto correct toggle
- geo localisation toggle
November 24th, 2008 at 6:25 am
not if u have AptBackup installed.
when u use the restore button of aptbackup, it automatically starts downloading and installing all the cydi apps (over wifi/edge/3g) that u had installed prior to the clean restore to 2.2 using the last backup created via aptbackup itself.
this is what i want to confirm from BigBoss.
November 24th, 2008 at 6:33 am
FYI – I don’t use SBS Settings, but I use to use the BossPref app for “WiFi Toggle” the single tap button that would either activate, or shut off WiFi.
I can no longer download the WiFi Toggle after updating to 2.2
Is this going to be fixed? I keep getting a message stating that its broken when I try to install.
November 24th, 2008 at 6:58 am
How can a get the updated version? I have FW 2.2 JB and UL and I downloaded the app via cydia but it shows me the version 1.0.3 and not 1.3.4?!? Thanks
November 24th, 2008 at 7:34 am
Thanks for your answer!!! And what about the e-mail toggle: also have problems installing it?
Thanks!!!
November 24th, 2008 at 7:42 am
Thanks for the update. Back to normal but much faster this is great. Still wondering is logome not compatible with 2.2. After reinstall it just stays on downloadind files screen without any movement
November 24th, 2008 at 7:56 am
guys stop requesting more feature ! BB will update SBSetting so we can make our own toggle (I heard from somewhere) from there you can play with it, just like BossPrefs
November 24th, 2008 at 8:06 am
I’m pretty sure you don’t need that, the GPS is turned on on demand, it’s not running all the time.
November 24th, 2008 at 8:24 am
Bug Found:
installed new sbstoggles, im on FW 2.1.
After rebooting my phone I wanted to turn SSH off, and it froze my phone.
Will try again.
November 24th, 2008 at 8:29 am
Edit for the above post:
seems to be an isolated incident, ive turned it off/on 3 times now, and its good to go.
November 24th, 2008 at 9:06 am
Just a request if possible for SBSettings. Very useful to me would be a toggle for Location Services and Silent Vibrate.
November 24th, 2008 at 9:26 am
BB thanks for SB. please make a toggle for auto lock on/off.
November 24th, 2008 at 9:37 am
wifi toggle for the springboard isn’t working anymore. can’t even download it. does it work for somebody???
November 24th, 2008 at 9:53 am
Great work! Now all we need is an “add your own toggle” option! (Or a default vsftpd-service toggle to be added to the package!) That’d be very nice!
Updated today and everything works fine so far!
Thanks again!
November 24th, 2008 at 9:54 am
I think u should eliminate the ‘Off Icon” for brightness. Whenever u adjust your brightness, the brightness icon switches to a red (depending on theme) “Off Icon”. I don’t see any reason to have an off icon for brightness since it is not an on/off kinda thing. I’ve noticed refreshing brings it back to green/on.
BUT thank u SO MUCH for that brightness addition! I was not expecting that so soon! :)
November 24th, 2008 at 10:01 am
Do u plan on adding a “Never Dim” toggle for all those stupid apps that really should have turned off dimming themselves. Like the ones that are games (like racing games) that are mostly motion controlled and require u to pointlessly touch the screen every 2 minutes. It truly makes me wonder if they actually tried playing the game themselves on the iPhone.
November 24th, 2008 at 10:19 am
Bug with dock:
After upgrading to 2.2 and then removing some apps from my dock blank spots are left where those apps used to be. If I remove all apps and then add one it is placed after all the blank spots. The blank apps are also clickable and will flow sbsettings as if it’s loading an app. Anyone else experiencing this bug or know how to fix it?
November 24th, 2008 at 11:23 am
Hi there,
Great work, but…
my Edge toggle isnt working, does anyone have the same Problem?
November 24th, 2008 at 11:30 am
Still having an issue with SSH automatically switching to “on” after reboot.
November 24th, 2008 at 11:32 am
haveing the dame problem with ssh
November 24th, 2008 at 11:54 am
The only hiccup that the 2.2 upgrade caused, was just fixed with this update!!
—Boss comes thru once again—-
November 24th, 2008 at 2:09 pm
Can someone tell me where to find the file that holds which apps you have in the dock?
I reinstalled my phone and put back a backup.
Then i reinstalled all the apps i had on it as far as i could remember.
SBSettings remembered which icons i had in the dock for some reason. Now i had an icon in there which i dont remember what it was…
So it shows up as an empty space. I have 3 icons in the dock, and an empty space on the left.
When i add a new app to the dock it gets added to the next line, so below the empty spot. Any way i can remove the empty dock-icon?
November 24th, 2008 at 2:21 pm
BB has mentioned in the past that since he doesn’t have or use VPN he won’t be making an icon for it. Hard to make a switch you can’t test.
You’ll probably have to wait for a third party to implement one.
November 24th, 2008 at 2:29 pm
big boss did you notice that rip dev made an app ALMOST EXACTLY like sbsettings check it out on thier home page its called hood http://ripdev.org/
November 24th, 2008 at 2:34 pm
same here.
Anyone has a solution for that ?
Bigboss ?
November 24th, 2008 at 2:35 pm
Please a reply on point 28 ?
I’ve, as other users, some blank icon in dock … how to remove them ?
November 24th, 2008 at 2:51 pm
YOu need to install open ssh.
November 24th, 2008 at 2:52 pm
You are trying to install “Wifi Toggle” not bossprefs. That will not be fixed. It doesn’t work on 2.2.
November 24th, 2008 at 2:53 pm
Agree. Most themes already did this.
November 24th, 2008 at 2:54 pm
We are going to address that in a day or two when iPodTouchMaster has time to work on the “more” app again. In the meantime, just install the apps that you had on there, remove them, and then you can uninstall them again.
November 24th, 2008 at 2:54 pm
Hi Bigboss,
Is SBsettings working on Locked screen. It isn’t working on my Iphone with 2.2 ver. But it is working well on Springboard,
How can I run it on Locked Screen,
Thank you,
November 24th, 2008 at 2:55 pm
This is not an “issue”. It is intentional by design. I don’t know how many times people have mailed in that the iPhone won’t boot and only shows apple logo after installing this or that. If you have SSH running you can fix without a restore. If not, you’re screwed.
November 24th, 2008 at 2:55 pm
EDGE toggle is always intermittent even on bossprefs in the old days. Remember a couple things. 1) You do not judge if it works by the E. The E is always there. You must try to access the internet to see if it worked. 2) Try a reboot. Sometimes it works after a reboot.
November 24th, 2008 at 2:56 pm
This is caused by your iTunes backup restore. Install the apps you had, remove them. Then uninstall them if you dont want them.
November 24th, 2008 at 2:56 pm
I’ll add this as an option shortly.
November 24th, 2008 at 2:58 pm
If I am not wrong it was working on previous version. Am I right?
Thanks for all,
November 24th, 2008 at 3:41 pm
The EDGE Toggle is not working. You can enable EDGE with toggle then it shows up in green and under Data IP Address you can see the IP you got and if you want disable the toggle then it shows up in red but you are allways connect with EDGE and the Data IP Address is still there. You can then use safari and you can use the web. That sucks really because that doesn´t happen. I have FM2.2 and installed SBSettings version 1.03 and then installed SBSettingToggles 1.3.4. Befor I used the FW2.2 I used FW2.1 with BossPrefs and that works fine. After FW2.2 BossPrefs doesn´t work and I have to switch to SBSettings but it doesn´t work too. I have a iPhone 2G. Can anybody help or have same problem?
November 24th, 2008 at 3:45 pm
Go to /private/var/mobile/Library/SBSettings/Themes and find your theme, and find the brightness off. Copy the Brightness On switch and paste it in the same folder. Copy the name of the brightness off and delete it. Then rename the newly copied brighness and name it what the off switch was. This way whenever you click on the icon it will always appear on.
November 24th, 2008 at 3:54 pm
Do I have to reboot my iPhone everytime if I want disable EDGE? Because that is the only why that it works if I switch off the toggle for EDGE in SBSettings!? After EDGE toggle is switch to off and I make reboot then EDGE is off without that reboot EDGE is allways on (but switch is red). That is a big bug!!
November 24th, 2008 at 3:56 pm
Hi, I found a bug. If you have an app in the dock of the sbsettings and you remove it, there seems to be an invisible icon and leaves a space between the applications.
November 24th, 2008 at 4:19 pm
Hey I love this app. If there would be a location service switcher that would be awesome!
Thanks for the work on this :)
November 24th, 2008 at 5:15 pm
Thanks for the response. Keep up the good work.
November 24th, 2008 at 5:19 pm
Same issue. Apps I had on the dock were Apple default (Apps Stoc, Itunes). No option to remove these. Any chance you can include a “clear dock” type option in the future?
November 24th, 2008 at 5:36 pm
HI BB,
Thanks for the response last night. I tried to reboot but seems to still work different from the past versions. One thing I noticed before when edge was switched off (red) the signal would go down and then come back on… goto safari and bam it’s off. This newest version the signal stays on with no change. After I goto safari and still working. If I then turn off my phone mode and back on the edge is off…. Anyway, you can put up the last version so we could try it if makes a difference?
Thanks,
Asa
November 24th, 2008 at 5:39 pm
Yes…my point as well! Last version worked perfect!
November 24th, 2008 at 6:50 pm
Bug Found,
When you use Respring and then my iphone will go to safe mode. and it’s cause to mobile substrate that make the crash on springboard.
I would like Bigboss to solve this problem too.
Thanks.
Bird.
November 24th, 2008 at 7:49 pm
hey i am making a theme for sbsettings and was wondering if there is a way to change font color to black
November 24th, 2008 at 8:07 pm
There is not yet, but there will be.
November 24th, 2008 at 8:08 pm
Install my respring app from Cydia and this won’t happen to you anymore. If you don’t want the respring icon on your desktop, just hide it. You don’t need to launch it. When you hit respring in sbsettings, it will launch the app instead of using its internal respring. I did not make this required in sbsettings because only a portion of people had problems with respring.
November 24th, 2008 at 8:12 pm
I will look at this again. Now that I think about it, while the EDGE toggle didnt change, I do use airplane mode to have the changes take effect. Try this. Toggle EDGE then toggle phone off, then back on using the phone toggle.
November 24th, 2008 at 8:51 pm
Yes- this works fine this way but in the last few versions you had a one click solution and the key was the signal would be lost and come right back and the edge turned off. For now I have done the turn off edge and airplane mode for changes to take effect.
Thanks for looking into this!
November 24th, 2008 at 9:07 pm
Unfortunately, all the 1.0.3-1 upgrade did for me was make it so that whenever I tapped dock, it crashed. I had to go and delete com.iptm.bigboss.sbsettings.plist from /User/Library/Preferences to fix it.
November 24th, 2008 at 9:11 pm
I meant whenever I tapped Dock Applications in the More application
November 24th, 2008 at 9:48 pm
awesome! I’m not going crazy!!! hahah Thanks BB
November 24th, 2008 at 9:56 pm
Hi,
I updated to the firmware 2.2 then after i installed SBSettings, then i reboot my phone right, it keeps going to safe mode. I tried rebooting like more than 3 times but still goes to safe mode. Is it the SBSettings or? cos after i removed it, it doesnt bring me to safe mode. How do i fix this?
November 24th, 2008 at 9:59 pm
Is anyone else’s ssh randomly quitting? It’s happening to me all the time now. I’m using WinSCP and I’ll be in the middle of doing something and it will disconnect itself. Happens every time, if I shut of ssh and turn it back on again it will reconnect and continue what it was doing… Any ideas? It is really annoying me.
November 24th, 2008 at 11:00 pm
Make sure your phone isn’t auto-locking, as this disables the WiFi and thus terminates the SSH session.
November 24th, 2008 at 11:02 pm
Yea, it sounds like a standard WiFi drop.
November 24th, 2008 at 11:03 pm
Install the respring app. When you get safe mode, respring instead of reboot. See if it comes up then. If so, go to the more app, disable all your toggles and reboot. If it comes up, enable toggles one by one and reboot each time to see which one(s) causes it. Let me know.
November 24th, 2008 at 11:04 pm
I’m sure deleting that plist fixed it. I wish you had the old one still though as I would have requested you to email it to me.
November 24th, 2008 at 11:07 pm
Yes, and I tried it out, too. I couldn’t find any of the ability to kill apps or anything in it. Those features must not exist yet (like on SBSettings). Also, it worries me that it doesn’t use mobile substrate so instead of “safe mode” you would just get an eternal apple logo and have to restore.
November 24th, 2008 at 11:13 pm
The 1.0.3-1 update not solve ALL the blank icons problem.
I’ve 1 blank icon in the first position that is still blamk, the others, instead, are removed by the 1.0.3-1 update.
May you please fix that little problem too ?
Bigboss, please, may you display dock icon in the same main screen (under icons more, refresh, dock, respring, power), where now is display:
iPhone Name … etc ?
It would more useful to have access to our main dock applications without have to click on Dock, isn’t it ?
November 24th, 2008 at 11:25 pm
Would it be possible to add timer settings to toggles? For example, a way to set the Airplane/Phone toggle so that it goes off from 2am to 6am in order to save battery life if you don’t plan to use the phone at that period.
November 25th, 2008 at 12:04 am
Can you email me your file: /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/com.iptm.bigboss.sbsettings.plist ?
November 25th, 2008 at 12:13 am
That’s really not the problem — it’s the damn apps asking location permission each time that drives me nuts.
And sometimes I know where I am :) and I just want to use Maps without GPS running.
November 25th, 2008 at 2:29 am
Bigboss,
I updated to the latest version of sbsettings and sbsettingstoggles. Nothing has changed. I close ssh before rebooting the phone and after the reboot it always remains “ON”. Also, i set my brightness from sbsettings, after i reboot the phone the brightness goes to default position which is much more lighter then i want. ALSO, YOU DIDN’T REPLY MY PREVIOUS MESSEAGE. PLEASE REPLY THIS ONE!!!
November 25th, 2008 at 2:45 am
Hi Bigboss,
thanks for your nice Apps.
In SBSettings I miss a button to turn off the default SSH at boot starts.
Would be great if you in the next update might include.
Bye Nils
November 25th, 2008 at 2:58 am
Just upgraded to the lastest version today. May be this is a dumb question, but isn’t there anyway to turn EDGE off without toggling phone signal off/on as well?
November 25th, 2008 at 3:25 am
Perfect it works like it should! You are the best Thanks!
November 25th, 2008 at 3:49 am
whenever i try to respring my phone goes into safe mode
1st gen 8gb iphone FW 2.2
November 25th, 2008 at 4:00 am
Hi BigBoss, great work ! Quick question, will leaving SSH “ON” not drain the battery faster ? Running 2.2 3G. Thanks !
November 25th, 2008 at 4:38 am
There is an issue with sbsettingsand tge more app. I downloaded the fix for the blank icon, but now when i go to more app, and then dock icons, it says enumerating, and then crashes. I tried a clean uninstall/reinstall, but no luck. I love sbsettings. Thanks a million!
November 25th, 2008 at 6:04 am
Thanks as always for your efforts BB, keep up the great work!
November 25th, 2008 at 6:23 am
If you would read the other comments and replies in this topic you would get your answer. SSH is set by default to turn on after a reboot. This is to save you in the case that the phone gets stuck due to a problem with an app. This allows you to get into the phone and fix whatever the problem is without having to restore the phone.
November 25th, 2008 at 6:30 am
See reply to post 30 for an actual BB post about this. Posted almost 12 hrs before your post.
November 25th, 2008 at 6:42 am
i’ve solved just re-enter in sbsettings > more > dock.
at second time disappears also last blank space.
Thank you for your reply and support.
Your program is really invaluable !
Any chance to have the feature suggested (dock also in main window) ?
Thanks, again
November 25th, 2008 at 7:41 am
But I think it should nevertheless be configurable. I don’t like it to have SSH enabled on reboot.
November 25th, 2008 at 7:44 am
ok here i have a major problemand its realy pissing me off because i had to restore my iphone twice!
he it goes:
installed sb setting on iphone running fw2.1
modified it so i would have no icons on the springboard and i had a few applications which ment to appear in the special menu of the sb setting thingy!
once i press the home button iphone keeps loading and loading and there is noway out of this but restore!! grrrrrrrr! not happy @ all. a fix to this issue would b much apreciated!!!
November 25th, 2008 at 8:06 am
actually there is a confusion here.
BigBoss, plz tell me if after performing the following, it is a bug or as per design:
1) enable ssh in sbettings.
2) turn off ssh in sbsettings. at this point ssh is off in both, sbsettings and bossprefs. plz also note that ‘ssh on after reboot’ is set to OFF.
3) now power off/on the iphone.
4) ssh toggle is ON again in both, sbsettings and bossprefs.
5) now turn off ssh via bossprefs ONLY and power off/on the iphone. now the ssh toggle will remain OFF in both, sbsettings and bossprefs.
how can this be as per design, after performing the above.
coz it fools even bossprefs to believe that ssh is off whereas after a reboot its on again.
and why wudnt the ssh toggle turn on again if turned off via bossprefs?
BigBoss, i think this can be a battery drainer and shud be fixed
thanx.
November 25th, 2008 at 8:22 am
No it can’t be that, my auto lock is off.
November 25th, 2008 at 8:49 am
what about the brightness issue that i mentioned JMK?
November 25th, 2008 at 8:56 am
I am having a problem installing the WiFi toggle. I get an error message and cannot install it.
November 25th, 2008 at 9:19 am
Whenever I try to get into the Dock section, the app crashes. I bring down the SBSettings App, click on the More tab, then when I go to click on the Dock tab, the program saying enumerating apps, then crashes…
November 25th, 2008 at 9:36 am
Please add a toggle for wiki2touch.
SBSettings is great!
November 25th, 2008 at 9:37 am
I am having similar problems, I can bring up the dock and launch applications.
But when I go into “more” and “dock applications” it says Ennumerating Apps for a second, then crashes to springboard
November 25th, 2008 at 11:35 am
@monica
I run my phone with Wi-Fi and SSH on all day. I make on average 5-7 calls that last 5-10 minutes, and I check my email via 3G 15-20 times. I unplug my phone around 8am and by the time I’m home and ready to plug in again its 8pm. At that point, I still have about 3/4th of a battery left. I’ve noticed that keeping BT on reduces that by a bit, but not much. (BT calls on the other hand drain the battery quick)
Depending on what else you do, I’d guess that leaving SSH on won’t drain your battery too much.
November 25th, 2008 at 11:36 am
Oops – I meant 1/4th of my battery left. By 10:30, if I haven’t plugged in, I get the 20% notice, but can go another 30 mins or so.
November 25th, 2008 at 11:52 am
I can test it for him if he want,
it would be very usefull to have this toggle on my university’s network…
November 25th, 2008 at 2:21 pm
… same phone, same fw, same problem ;-(
November 25th, 2008 at 3:37 pm
BB thank u for all ur work i. Jailbreak today and everthing is working fine the only little thing is the safari is a little slow then before i want know why? I like your SBSettings a lot. I thought I’d try something new and add an app to the dock in SBSettings. I put the ‘Settings’ app in there, and it works. The problem is, I cannot remove it, or add more apps to the doc. It starts “Enumerating Apps’ and just goes back to the springboard. Tried a reboot, no dice.
Can anyone help me out? Thx.
November 25th, 2008 at 4:09 pm
I have this problem too. Should’ve read your posts first.
November 25th, 2008 at 4:48 pm
Also tried to remove and reinstall SBSettings (rebooting in between). Same problem. In fact, the app that is stuck in the dock is still there after a removal/reinstall of the app. Those details must be stored elsewhere on the phone.

It isn’t SBSettings’ fault, it’s yours. The SpringBoard doesn’t like to be empty (said on a non technical way), that’s the reason.
November 25th, 2008 at 7:06 pm
Really? For me they ask once only, twice if I deny it the first time.
And you can use Maps without GPS, just “uncheck” the button at the bottom left.
November 25th, 2008 at 7:09 pm
It’s already there.
November 25th, 2008 at 7:16 pm
I have a similar problem like two other users.
Under FW 2.2, going to SBSettings/More/Dock Applications, the Enumerating apps comes up, after which, SBSettings config crashes to the Springboard.

I would imagine it would drain the battery because its a dameon and is ALWAYS RUNNING
but the thing is- its so small and usless (only really is us when actually connected and SSH’ed into.)
SO it does drain but it drains so little you cant notice it
November 25th, 2008 at 7:32 pm
BY THE WAY BIGBOSS,
IT SAYS THE RECOMMENDED FIRMWARE IS 2.1 AND 2.2 IS BETTER, FASTER, MORE FEATURES, AND JAILBROKEN WITH MINIMAL TO NO PROBLEMS AND EVERYTHING RUNES SMOOTHLY.
JUST THOUGHT ILL POINT IT OUT :D
November 25th, 2008 at 9:03 pm
I’m not yet convinced :) although I’ll admit 2.2. doesn’t seem any worse, I am not finding to be any better or faster. I planned to give it a couple more days then write up a comparison.
November 25th, 2008 at 9:04 pm
Please email me your com.iptm.bigboss.sbsettings.plist file.

This is not related to SBSettings. The wifi toggle app does not work on 2.2 thats why you get an error message. Use SBSettings for a wifi toggle.
November 25th, 2008 at 9:06 pm
Install my respring app from cydia. Hide the icon if you wish. Your issue will be solved.
November 25th, 2008 at 9:08 pm
That doesnt matter. It can be that.
November 25th, 2008 at 9:14 pm
I’ve updated the toggle package v1.3.4, but the problem for saft mode still exist, when back from respring ,turn into safe mode, even installed respring app. problem not solved
November 25th, 2008 at 10:08 pm
Fixed it. Thanks a bunch.

SBSettings is great. I discovered today if the native settings are docked and maps is opened with Locations Services Off I receive an error message when prompted to open Settings fronm the Maps application. Indicates there’s a bad URL.

Great work as always!!
November 26th, 2008 at 11:15 am
There was a mention of the battery drain if the device is powered off using the Power Off option in SBSettings.
I had the same thing happen to me last night… the battery was completely discharged by morning.
Did a short test this morning and realized that it was losing approximately 1% of battery power per minute. I’m assuming that something causes the CPU to remain active (probably very active) if using this power off method.
Regards.

I am having some issues you may want to know about. SBSettings quits and sends me back to the springboard when I hit more, dock icons. So, I can’t clear my dock. It started when I installed an update to one of the apps in the dock. The app showed up on my springboard, then I saw a blank space. When I went to the dock icons to try to fix the issue, it wouldn;t let me anymore. I have a jailbroken 3G with 2.2FW on ATT. Not sure how to clear thsi anymore. Uninstalling and reinstalling SBS isn’t helping – it just picks up the old preferences. Is there anyway to manually remove the .plist file or some other settings file? What directory would it be in?
November 26th, 2008 at 9:00 pm
Also, for the bug-list:
the bluetooth toggle comes up as off – when bluetooth is really on. The refresh takes a good 10 seconds for it to catch on. I’ve had this issue since the original version I installed a few weeks ago. Not sure if this is the same for others.
November 26th, 2008 at 9:52 pm
Hey Big Boss,
I’m having trouble installing your SbSettings. I get a 1 broken Packages error telling me I have unmet dependencies.
November 26th, 2008 at 10:18 pm
Don’t know if anyone has encountered the backlight problem with 2.2. Mine went out twice – once with DTunes and once with BibBoss’ Flashlight. I was compelled to restore both times.
An explanation has been posted elsewhere. The DTunes developer posted to a thread as quoted:
“Basically what happens is when dTunes loads it looks up the current brightness from the system plist file.
This value is then used to set the current brightness when you exit dTunes. (ie: if you exit dTunes when it’s dim you will go back to the bightness that you started with).
Apple changed where it stores the brightness value in 2.2 and so a value of 0 was received and then set to 0 when you leave dTunes.
I’ve added extra lines of code to help with this in future updates.
It’s the problem of writing jailbroken apps that use undocumented frameworks. It’s reasons like this that made some apps get discontinued from the early firmwares 1.1 when 2.0 came out.”
Hopefully Flashlight will be modified soon.
November 26th, 2008 at 10:21 pm
To amend my comment regarding the backlight, the DTunes developer also posted this workaround:
“WORKAROUND: All apps that use the brightness will be affected in 2.2. If you tilt a dimmed screen into a bright light you should be able to just see the icon. Go into settigns and click reset all. This should reset the brightness control – no need to restore.”

Hi BB. SBSettings is great and keeps getting better, but i’m having 2 fairly big problems with this update.
the first i see you’ve replied to, but i’d like a little more information. 4 out of 5 times, when i respring from SBSettings, i get put in safe mode. rebooting with home and power fixes it every time. i’d install your respring app but i’m still not sure how it works/what it does.
the second has to do with brightness.
i’m not sure i can recreate it, but right now, even after using “refresh” my brightness slider is all the way to the left. when i touch it the screen dims (as if it was now all the way to the left) and then i can adjust it. i can leave brightness and reopen it immediately and the slider is back on the left.
another time (happened to my friend too, both 3Gs on 2.2) it seemed the backlight was shut off completely. the screen was next to impossible to see, slider did nothing, nor did respring/reboot. the only thing that would fix it was locking and unlocking the phone.
while these problems aren’t critical, they are quite annoying. thanks for the great software.

how do i delete it throught mobile finder?
November 28th, 2008 at 4:48 am
Anybody else have this problem and did you find a solution?
I don’t know what caused this, but my phone was on and unplugged for almost 18 hours with lots of reserve power. Last night I used the hardware button and slide to power it off and set it on my night stand. This am, it was dead. Any ideas?
November 28th, 2008 at 8:46 pm
Hi
I’ve done what you asked and found out when i enabled the Phone toogle, it brings me to safe mode. How do i fix this?
November 29th, 2008 at 1:27 pm
I was wondering the same thing. My battery used to go a full day and the next morning before I would need a recharge, now it seems I have to recharge my 3G phone twice a day.
Anyone else having issues with this? I only keep Wifi on at home/office, and Edge on most of the other times only using 3G network when I need to surf web/download something to my phone.
Any help?

I Have the same problem.. checking my sbsetting version its only 1.0.3..don’t see the update 1.3.4 I assume this is why wifi Toggle won’t install? ..same as a post Nov 24…running 2.2 iphone Pwnd/UL.. Thanks in advance BB
November 24th, 2008 at 6:58 am
How can a get the updated version? I have FW 2.2 JB and UL and I downloaded the app via cydia but it shows me the version 1.0.3 and not 1.3.4?!? Thanks
December 28th, 2008 at 12:27 pm
Ditto on the Location Services switch. Would be so nice. ;)
February 7th, 2009 at 9:44 pm
Yeah is there a way to make it more harder to open the SBtoggles. It seems I just press the top corner a bit by accident and it comes rushing down.
February 7th, 2009 at 9:47 pm
Hasn’t happen to me yet, did you turn off auto brightness in settings. I never knew it even had that feature until I saw my screen dim by itself.
February 8th, 2009 at 6:43 pm
Hi There….
I’m on iPhone3G 2.2.1 it seems that whenever I do an Edge Toggle…. its crashing more often than before…. and worst of all it requires a reboot… a respring will not help….
Any idea?
February 8th, 2009 at 6:47 pm
I have another suggestion….
I’m a previous user of HOOD…..
I feel it would be good if SBSettings can have something similar to HOOD where if u touch on an area not occupied by HOOD it could self hide itself.
Currently to close SBSettings we have to always press the “HOME” button to close SBSettings. which is kinda troublesome at times..
In addition…. the tiny “X” on the top left hand corner is just too small and most of the time its causing more problems… especially u accidentally press on the other toggles…
I really like SBSetting every singly bit…. but the closing of this app is really really cumbersome….

Thank you for SBSettings. Its so intuitive and easy to use. The only challenge I have is SBSettings launches a little too easily (an accidental finger swipe at the top of the screen will launch it) and is very hard to close. My wish for a future version would be a user configurable hot spot (hot spots) to launch. Maybe touch two corners at once or drag in a L shape across top and down right side?
Keep up the great work
April 22nd, 2009 at 10:10 am
Thank you very much for SBSettings. However, I am trying to use this new qtweeter program, and it is accessed very similar to SBSettings. Is there anyway to disable the slide to drop down SBSettings and just utilize the two finger tap?
Thank you.

In SBS Settings 29-4 I have SSH ON in the “toggles: setting under “More”, but it doesn’t show up in the SBS Settings dock. Is this a bug? Thanks for your help.
