Since jailbreaking is legal in the US, a new law to stop companies from jail-locking their devices should come.

It’s almost as if the law is saying “hey, I won’t stop you but leave me out of your fights.”

the law says you can jailbreak – it doesn’t say Apple cannot fix their ‘security flaws’ which in turn disable jailbreak abilities… people need to understand that just because its legal to jailbreak doesn’t mean that we are entitled to it.

Can’t wait until the new jailbreak to come out for 4.1 firmware any body know when that will be?

Just a quick little heads-up chronic-dev, the guys behind the SHAtter Jailbreak just added a new update in the official blog, confirmed that they are making steady progress with the new jailbreak tool, also they have been much asked about the release date but till now they still can”t give an estimate for this date.

RedSn0w 9.5.5 should do it for you, i have the latest version and i used it to jailbreak and unlock my iPhone 3G 8gb on 4.0.2

I’m honest, I’m one of the dumba**es that turned his Iphone 3G into an IPod 3g. Can’t unlock the damn thing. Unlock would be good, but for us idiots maybe a tool to downgrade the firmware might be easier. Can’t we trick the IPSW to think that an older firmware is newer and it would flash?

Hey guys, I have an iPhone 3gs that is on 4.0.2. Im waiting for a 4.1 jailbreak but for now pwnage tool has said to have worked for iphone 3gs users on 4.1. I have articles and people say it works. Yes it is possible. I also have 3GS and yesterday I updated to 4.0 and managed to jailbreak it.

What is extremely important to do before updating is saving your shh files (there many ways). and backing up your itunes library on a disc.
There is even an app which can save your cydia settings and apps…. but before trying to updated to newer version make sure you have kept your information!

3g tried DFU for 4.0 would not come of recovery no matter what I tried. Sorry to say Irecovery does not work. Had to restore to 4.1 missing cydia jailbreaks. no ssh no sb so sad. Please redsn0w for windows.

If unlock is not necessery for you, it is a good advice to update our 3G’s to 4.1

4.1 is bugfixed and dis-slows -;) the 3G.

OK: 3.1.3 still is a little bit faster than 4.1, but 4.1 has perfect folders and Safari is little faster. It´s simply the most advanced iOS.

JB: Use Redsn0w 0.9.6 (see BB’s Jailbreak-table)

Wenn installing that and Cydia, wou will be asked tro save the shsh blobs. Allow that!

I have an AT&T iphone (bootloader 5.8) which i updated to ios 4.1 and the related baseband 05.14 02.
I JB it with redsn0w 09.6b1 and downgraded it to 05.13 .04 by fuzzyband 4.1-1 then used
ultrasn0w 1.1-1 to unlock it .
With AT&T sim card or another sim card it is looking endlessly for the network.
Any suggestion how to connect with the network?

Hi I have 3G with iOS 4.02 which is jailbroken and unlocked. Is there a way to upgrade to 4.1 safely? Without breaking the jailbreak or locking the phone?

With 4.02 my phone is just painfully slow! I keep hearing 4.1 fixes this.

I have the same problem as Berele :( BB is 05.13.04, but iPhone cannot find the network after unlock.

I highly recommend you need to downgrade with 3.1.3 that’s the best for 3g. I have had trouble same like you it’s very very slow i then downgrade 3.1.3 oh well it’s so nice working smoothly and so fast.
***If you want to downgrade 3.1.3 you don’t need have SHSH so don’t worry just let it back.

Having the worst luck…downloaded from 3gunlock.net and have every option to jailbreak and unlock, the only thing is that they only have the jailbreak option for the 3g v4.1

I deffinately recomend paying for and downloading the full iphone packages from 3gunlock.net as it has every software option for every iphone version to unlock/jailbreak your iphone. it may be $26 canadian but you become a lifetime member and can unlock/jailbreak your phones whenever you want!!!
