Greenpois0n, Chronic dev’s jailbreak tool is out. You can download it for both windows and mac (mac download coming soon). This is an alternative to Geohot’s release of Limera1n. If you already used Geohot’s tool you do not need to do anything else. If you are not jailbroken yet, you can choose which to use.

hey aadi2383 use snowbreeze 2.02. it does not update baseband. so u can use ultrasnow for carrier unlock safely. I’ve used it. Works fine

Nasir it’s too late for Aadi2383 if he done a stock firmware update. Surely you understand why it worked for you. ie:You used a custom firmware wich did not update your baseband. Aadi2383 will be unable to unlock untill an exploit for the baseband is found and released, unless i,m wrong, which is possible.

@BibBoss: correct in JB-table, that limera1n doesn´t JB that 2 devices.

Make sure you get the latest RC1 not the betas. Because you may have the new bootrom and the RC1 covers that. Anyway Greenpois0n may do it also, I just haven’t read up on it yet.

I’m trying to JB my 3gs but following the greenposi0n directions isn’t getting me past the initial screen. I even put my phone in DFW mode but it still says “try again.” Could be user error, but I’m a pretty good reader :) Any suggestions?

I did a complete restore and rebreak. I’ve got GP & cydia installed and working, but when I try to load any of my apps from apptrakr that I had working on my 3gs, it won’t install them as if the phone wasn’t jailbroken at all.
I’m also getting a huge power drain. Any sugs?

Two factors. 1. cydia (saurik) usually stop showing “on-file” blobs when new jb comes out; it is said that the server is too busy processing new request and no cycles for previous blob search. 2. saurik is said to be out of town for some conference.

You should save SHSH for iOS 4.1 for your device before you do the restore. You can do it via TinyUmbrella or wait for few days (not more than 3/4 days) & you will get PwnageTool (for Mac) or Sn0wbreeze (for Win) as per your need.

I am not having any luck with an iphone 3g either. I did my iphone 4 with no problems but tried and tried on the 3g with no luck. Greenpoison will not recognize it at all.
