As the subject says. Apple is pushing iOS 4.3.2 via iTunes. You cannot jailbreak it so do not update. You will gain nothing and lose everything you have installed on your jailbreak. The official changes in the 4.3.2 update is “fixes some facetime issue and 3g connectivity issues on ipad”. Sigh.

@Almone: not quite true. Looks like latest RedSn0w can jailbreak 4.3.2 by pointing it at 4.3.1 ipsw, however it is tethered & nothing is working yet. Unlockers/Ultrasn0w users DO NOT UPDATE. Wait for official tools! So you can preserve baseband.

1) redsnow can jailbreak 4.3.1 untethered with some minor issues with some apps that uses mobile substrate. Just respring when it crash to safe mode and you are good to go.
2) if you are <- 4.3.1 you may want to upgrade now, then jailbreak to save your shsh. Because soon you would not be able to do that when Apple move beyond 4.3.2
3) Before upgrading. Get pkgbackup, run it in your jailbreak phone, backup, and sync to your iTunes. After upgrade firmware, jailbreak, install pkgbackup first, run it, restore and all your cydia apps will be back. Your personal data of course is restored by iTunes.

For the love of god people learn to back up ur data, apps and music before updating to any new firmware. Pkgbackup is great for ur cydia tweaks, etc. Use iTunes own back up to save all ur info, including apps that u purchased or downloaded. For music, u can use Sharepod. That’s what I do before updating since you’ll need a fresh install before JB. Hope u learned ur lesson nikka.

You must be the der use backup from cydia I used it and backed all my jailbroken apps to iTunes. Then I updated my iPhone to 4.3.1. Then when I re jailbroke I just synced it and wow anything back to normal apart from I had a upgrade on firmware. There was no need to re download all my apps iTunes done all the work for me

Yes, I hadn’t updated since 4.1 because it’s such a pain in the ass. Apple quit signing right in the middle of my effort to get to 4.3.1, but anyway, I got to 4.2.1 for now and will wait for hopefully next week for 4.3.2 JB.
All to say that I tried pkgbackuo for the first time (other similar apps in the past failed miserably), and it worked great! Made th JB restore a snap! Only thing is you have to back up anything you did not get via Cydia by hand, like themes you installed via ssh. Easy, though.

I’ve been jailbraking my phones since firmware 3.1.2, and I must say the best rule for updating is to wait. I usually wait about 1-2 months after new update release before actually updating, for example I am on firmware 4.1 at the moment and next week I will update to 4.3.1. I like to wait out to firmware updates for two reasons #1- by the time the second update is released the update before should have most of the bugs worked out. #2- i don’t have to wast so much time jailbreaking every update, saving me time and headaches. It on you but I would wait before updating to iOS 4.3.2.

Hi everyone! I just wanted to ask you a couple of things, just for clarification purposes.
First of all, I’m not what can be tagged as a “pro jailbreaker”. The one and only jailbreak I performed was on 4.1, using the straightforward limera1n….
Say I don’t want to upgrade now to 4.3.1, but I want to do it later: for what I’ve read, I won’t be able to do that because Apple won’t let me download the correct firmware. Neither I could download the firmware elsewhere and use that package to upgrade, because I haven’t got the SHSH, or whatever it is.
My question is, is there a way to get that SHSH for 4.3.1 without actually starting the upgrade procedure? Maybe Tinyumbrella?
And, what does “this device is in the pending TSS queue”, first line of Cydia’s home page?

Only variable, this is the newer 3GS, not a 4. I don’t think that matters though.
The redsnow link mentioned above is correct. Read all the notes… Not just the first two sentences. You will find that they upgrade it to untethered coule days after the tethered release.

Download tiny umbrela when u get the 1013 error and kick it out of recovery mode. The 1013 error is a lie. All it means is that it’s not covered by apple anymore but it will still work. I’ve done this with my friends phone.

If you don’t feel comfortable with that I have heard if u put the device in dfu mode and start running whatever program you use whether it is redsnow or greenpoison it should work also.

4.2.1 with greenpoison is still the best combination! Stable, no bugs and very fast with good batterylife! I’ve done it in 7 iphone 4′s now and all work great!

That happened to me it turned out YourTube2 was the problem so uninstall a recently downloaded tweak or YourTube2.

there is jailbreak. i am running 4.3.2 and unlocked to tmobile. and i had the newer bootrom. the only issue so far is picture mail.

I have never gotten the app to work. I downloaded it, and every time I open it, it thinks for a couple seconds then just exits backto the home screen

Anyone know why when plug my Phone in to charge it pretends like it’s charging then doesn’t actually charge? Left it plugged in all night and woke up with a dead phone. Couldn’t get it to charge from the wall but I used the same cord and charged it from my computer. It just shows the logo on the battery that means plugged in but not charging when it should be charging. Any idea why?

may be some of the software you use that dial to the owner software server but it could not get through that why you bettery drain. and the not charge that some of the software that from the hacks you get, they tries to screw your iphone up

I always wait for the dev team to have the jailbreak. After that I upgrade to the next firmware without restoring my iPhone and when I jailbreak it again I just install the simple things I had and installous and I get everything back, even saved games and pictures.

Yes while there is a redsn0w jailbreak out they tend to push the fastest jailbreak possible and it is not always stable. I would wait for a greenpois0n jailbreak

Yes it will happen again. iTunes always delete everything when you upgrade to a new IOS, which is why you always want to backup your data and apps. You can restore them after the update.

Hwo do you restore, I lost my music library. I see in iTunes it registers as other and they are there as I can see them in the file directories but they arent going to my music library. Apps are failing and not working properly and Im crashing a lot. Need to restore till the kinks get worked out. Please help!

Yes :) They have added a few new featurwes from 4.2.1. Like wifi hot spot :) 4.3.1 is my recommendation and its no more effort to install or jailbreak :)

I got my iPhone 4 stocked on recovery mode when trying to restore at apple, for 2 days I tried to get it back using all available solution, finally Redsnow rc12 was the only one able to pull it out from the recovery with 4.3.1 restore, now my iPhone works fine…
