New Ultrasn0w unlocks all iphone versions.
Thanks to sherif_hashim who found the exploit, the dev team has updated UltraSn0w. The updated UltraSn0w can be installed via Cydia in the Ultrasn0w repository. The new ultrasn0w works on all 3.0 and 4.0 baseband versions for 3g and 3gs devices. For those of you currently unlocked and having wifi issues, you can now remove blacksn0w and install ultrasn0w and be up and running in a more stable fashion.
If you are updating from blacksn0w, make sure you uninstall blacksn0w in cydia before installing ultrasn0w. If you installed blacksn0w via blackra1n, you probably need to restore.
Note, this is an unlock. There is no official 4.0 jailbreak yet.

Can anyone confirm we need to restore? How do we restore if our baseband is 05.xx.xx onwards?

I just recently (hour ago or so) unlocked my iPhone 3g, when I installed SBSettings I noticed it wasn’t working.. but it was working earlier today?
I freshly restored/jailbroke it via Spirit then unlocked it.

I’ve tried rebooting, reinstalling, everything, but everytime I slide my finger across the top, nothing.
I have to turn 3G off so I can use my tmobile sim card.

Just making sure you know that you can turn off 3G in Settings > Network since you cant get to SBSettings…

Wait a minute, how are you able to unlock on 4.0 if you can’t get into Cydia to get ultrasnow since there isn’t a jailbreak for 4.0 yet?

I own an iPhone 3G running on 3.1.2 firmware. I couldn’t unlock it with Blacksn0w, or anything else for that matter, because my Wi-Fi is greyed out. Ultrasn0w (meant for older baseband) couldn’t do it. After several rounds of installing and reinstalling and finally removing Ultrasn0w, voilà! It was unlocked. How weird. Sounds crazy, doesn’t it? So I thought.

i have an iphone 3g with bootloader version 6.04 and the os version with 3.1.2, baseband version is 5.12.01. i succeded jailbreak with redsn0w 0.94 version, but it is not unlocks the iphone, please help me to unlock the iphone 3G.

(1)i have iphone 3g with firmware 3.1.3 and baseband 5.12.0.1 which i was able to jailbreak with Spirit, but when i lunch cydia and go to manage>sources there is no bigboss source, only:iSpazio, repo666, Telephoreo Tangelo and ZodTD. How do i fix this so that bigboss packages can be listed in the Changes tab. I tried adding the repo but its say repo not found (2)Is there any unlock for the above baseband yet, if i update to iOS4 will the baseband be updated and unlockable in nearest future.Thanks for all the good works guys and those who post comments and answers. you guys help thousands in no small way.

I love all of the guides out there but I’m not sure which programs I should use. I am an AT&T customer, still on 3.01 (baseband is 4.x I think) What should I use to unlock and JB? 3.1.2 or 3.1.3 should be fine.

i have a ? I’m using iPhone 3gs on 3.1.3 with new modem firmware , phone was bought in US , and I’m using it in Poland i’ve used spirit to jb and ulrasn0w to unlock , everything works fine besides one tiny thing , everytime im calling somebody or somebody calls me little Message pops out sayin something bout call forward active , does anybody have problem like I do ?
