I’m still alive. Been busy working on SBSettings coming update. It’s taking a long time because we keep adding more and more features to it. The most notable feature in the next update will be built in theme support and perhaps a bar of icons you can configure to launch and remove from your desktop (like bossprefs dock). This is being done without redrawing the background window or sizes to help themers that are already working on themes so they dont have to start over.
Themers, if you are working on a theme for this app please contact me. We are looking for a couple themes to add to the base install release package. Others can be hosted as addons. There are some requirements for themes to make themes more future friendly.
1) All themes should provide a blank on.png and off.png. Each toggle will provide also a glyph. In event that a new toggle is added that is not yet in the theme, the glyph will be combined with the on/off blanks to make a semi-decent looking toggle icon when one did not otherwise exist.
2) The theme should be aware of new graphics that exist and will exist for the followin gelements: a) Slider window frame b) Dock icon window frame c) dock button d) Brightness button
3) Themers can submit their themes to me for hosting.
Any themers that are working on themes for release please contact me and I will help get you an early drop of the upcoming graphics so you can be ready.

Guys I need help:
Since I updated SBSettings to 0.92, I used it 2 times:
1) I tried to open the the SSH, the ssh icon had a spinning wheel then it stopped and the iphone 2g fw2.0.2 has crashed and i had to hard reset it
2) I tried to press the refresh button, and again it kept having this light on it and agin the iphone crashed and i also had a hard reset
Please tell me is this a common crash and an update is coming or is it something with my iphone

i have a question for the future releases.. it will be possible a landscape mode of the application? so if i’m running safari in landscape mode it’s easy to use sbsettings

Surprisingly i opened sbsettings after posting this post and tried opening and closing ssh safely……done safely
second i tried pressing the refresh button safely….done safely
now that’s a perfect application!!

I second that. Though it might be harder than it sounds. Would take a whole new set of background images, and rearrange icons…

Hi, please, can you move the “close” button from the corner of the screen to somwhere else because it’s annoying when I try to close something and somehow push the openssh button. Please fix it. Thank you!!!

I believe because due to your current firmware issue.
You are using firmware 2.0.2 which is really unstable…any respring software will crash it anytime.
Suggested updates to firmware 2.1 which fix all the springboard issue.

Something that bothers me a lot, is when you press the Power button and the pop up emerges, the Cancel button is on the top. Can you make it so the Cancel button is on the bottom? This is because usually the button that you are most likely to press is on the top, and lest likely (the Cancel button) is on the bottom. I keep almost pressing the cancel button and then go to reboot.

I promise you if you update to 2.1, your problem will be fixed. 2.0.2 has so many problems, it is gives the iPhone a bad name.

This app was great from the start and now i cant wait for themes for it and more cooollll toggles!
BigBoss, you did a great job with this app and its gonna get a whole lot better
Also, can I uninstall Bossprefs now that i havs SBSettings, will there be a feature to add your own toggle?, when you modify a theme or something for SpringBoard will it have to restart or just do it intanlty because well, I HATE RESPRINGS!

The main reason I do not want to do this is that it would take a whole set of graphics to be loaded all the time taking up even more system memory. I am doing everything I can to make sure this plugin is very thin and does not impact system performance.
I am also pretty motivated to lock down the U/I graphics for v1.0 so that themers don’t have to keep redoing their themes.

It’s intentional. As you said, the least likely button is the top one right? The top button is the only “safe” one to press. If you “accidentally” press any of the others then the device either shuts off, reboots, or something else all of which would be quite annoying if done accidentally.

We have given some thought to additional toggles and while we will still add toggles to the SBSettings in the future, we may add a set of toggles that are not required for critical use, but handy to have anyway to the actual “more” app portion. One of the toggles we may add there is SSH. This will give users that are having SSH stability issues to disable it but still have a way to toggle it. Other toggles like mail, safari download or other toggles that are not critical use may move to this setup. Also, toggles that require root access may move to this. (Springboard does not run as root, and SSH toggle requiring root access has been a major stability issue in my opinion).

Hi! Very good job!
But I have one queestion: will new relase have a brightness feature? I mean one click changes brightness between day and night mode(as mentioned ok some of discussions in this web site).
I do not have jailbreak already, but today I found your sites and I really think about doing JB. But maybe, I should wait until 2.2 firmware update – whats your opinion?

Hey – is there anyway to change the “close” mechanism, or perhaps allow for centered icons? The “X” is too small and my fat finger keeps hitting the first icon. Perhaps you could make it the whole section that lists the IP, etc. That’s not being used for anything else is it? Perhaps if you swiped it, it would avoid any accidental tapping.

It is possible to fix THEIR ISSUE with SBPrefs?
I find really usefull SBPrefs, and i do not want uninstall it just because someone at sonoma decided to give the blame of their issues to.. us..
The problem is that i’m a musician, and i find useful for me a four tracks recorder.. but, everytime i run it, it crashes.
If it is not possible to fix this, could it be possibile to turn off sbprefs for a while?
or.. kill it on terminal?
or.. kill the mobile substrate forcing iphone in safe mode, use fourtrak and restart the phone? (sigh…)
