Author: Yllier  //  Category: News

ScreenDimmer 1.30 has been released. It now allows you to disable locking while the device is charging/docked and provides an option to disable locking directly after respring/reboot. There are also a few improvements/fixes in the new version. Here is the changelog:

- added option "Don't lock while Charging"
- added option "Don't lock after Respring/Reboot"
- fixed dimming while charging
- improved compatibility with LockInfo and other hacks which use the LockScreen
- added 20 secs to dim time

if you don’t know about ScreenDimmer:
ScreenDimmer allows you to save battery life by automatically dimming your device’s screen after a pre-defined time; or if you wish by turning the backlight off.

Most users suffer unnecessary battery drain while having their iPhone not on standby. Setting auto-lock to a short time makes it better, but is an inconvenience most of the time due to permanent locking and unlocking while waiting for something.

ScreenDimmer is the solution for this problem: Save battery life by reducing the backlight to a minimum if the device hasn’t been used for a pre-defined time and reduce the waste of the most energy consuming component, the backlight, of the iPhone or iPod.

Free yourself from worrying about locking your device

not sure where else to post this but it has to be said:

Oh no; did you remove the option to call SBSettings by ‘swipe down from the menu bar’ ? I was one of the “50% of comments” who complained about the change last time and I still don’t care for the functions being forced down our throats. At the very least a hook should be made for Activator so users can pick how they want to set it up. I’m very disappointed with BigBoss over this action.

Ever since i installed ScreenDimmer, my 3GS is restarting in safe mode. Not always, but 60% of the time. Maybe it has to do with Lockscreen dim delay installed on the device also ?

Also “Dim while charging” is not working if Battery Doctor Pro is open at the time.

    Love this app!
Would love to see it have the option to force the apps of your choice such as alarm clocks that don’t need to be seen while sleeping.
With the ability to wake sceen by motion if option is checked for that app.
Maybe a assignable backlight off feature for Activator that could force backlight off no matter what is running?
Just some things I would like to see in your app.
I would pay an upgrade price for those new features :)
    Thanks again.
