Edit by BigBoss: I love this app and can’t live without it. Quickreply makes this one published of the reasons to jailbreak your iPhone.

i love this update. hope you change the way it counts the number of characters in an SMS, in a way that we know how many characters are left before the message is split into 2, 3, 4, etc. parts… like how biteSMS does it.
(note: an SMS is limited to 160 characters per message.)

I would buy this in an instant but sadly i do not have an iPhone yet. Keep up the good work.

They just fixed what was keeping me from buying it :D

Compatibility with winterboard is a great start. Now do people have to write specific themes for irealsms or will the standard SMS themes apply to your app?
January 17th, 2009 at 9:53 pm
Ok well after testing the keyboard shows up from winterboard but not the SMS theme.
January 17th, 2009 at 11:44 pm
The only thing that I actually don’t like about this version is that the quick reply uses the transparent keyboard, which doesn’t look so great on my theme. Any way to edit it to use the standard portrait like it used to? Otherwise, great update! Looks good all themed up, and sends much faster! Great job!

Ok, does this version still conflict with iblacklist/mcleaner when quick reply is enabled?
January 18th, 2009 at 1:31 am
I have 2 iPhones(me and my wife)…if I buy one license, will the code work for both iPhones, or does it register like it does with SwirlyMMS? Which is specific to the iPhones serial number? I love the app, but really dont want to pay for it twice…
Im not trying to cheat.. Im just saying when I purchase anything off the app store, I am able to share it with my wifes iPhone since we share the same iTunes account. Im hoping I can do the same thing with this.
January 18th, 2009 at 1:33 am
from what Ive read from other sites, the answer is yes.. quick reply’s hook is still blocked by those apps.
January 18th, 2009 at 6:20 am
Does the demo version of this app still send and display only the text ‘Demo’? If yes, I still cannot test it properly and I will have to pass on this app once again.
January 18th, 2009 at 7:23 am
Cant use it still. It still conflicts with mCleaner. Soon as that’s fixed I will buy the hell out of it.
January 18th, 2009 at 9:41 am
Being that now you get a 10 day trial… i think its fully functional for those 10 days.
January 18th, 2009 at 9:46 am
Hook is still blocked :( I wish those peeps at iblacklist would fix it.
January 18th, 2009 at 2:04 pm
Don’t bother, try biteSMS instead, it’s for free.
January 18th, 2009 at 4:30 pm
The badge still not working for me when quickreply, the badge stays on icon until I erease the txt.
January 19th, 2009 at 4:10 am
you’ll need to purchase it on each device as it is deviceID specific.
January 19th, 2009 at 4:13 am
I would buy this but I paid $5 for the first v.1 and don’t see why I should pay $5 more for v.2. What next, another $5 for v.3 in a few months time? Unless the author can speak out and make some promises on future upgrades my buck has stopped here with this app.

After using the new version of this app for several days I am concerned with the daemon running in the background. I have absolutely no app daemons running but the mobile substrate plug-ins i have are Winterboard, SB Settings, Notifier, iBlacklist, irealSMS 2.0.6, Processes, and Quickgold. With all these things running my available memory is down to ~25MB. With the NEW version 2.0.7 with the daemon running my available memory drops to 11-13MB!! This causes many apps to crash and the springboard to crash into safe mode several times a day. I may have to resort to either uninstalling some of my plug-in apps or not use this version. Any suggestions would be great.
iPhone 3G, FW 2.2 jailbroken with pwnage tool.

This app is full of bugs, still. The only function i like of this app is the search function, everything else is done way better in MySMS, for a way cheaper price. They are now charging $26 for this app that is basically still beta. lol. i can’t believe i payed 6.50 for the update. Ehh maybe they’ll get it together eventually.
January 19th, 2009 at 11:18 pm
Love this app…the Qucik Reply conflict with iBlacklist/Mcleaner still exists and I’m looking forward to it being fixed.

So…is this app or MySMS better? I’m trying both now. MySMS seems slightly more stable and I like MySMS “SMS” screen. But in MySMS, the send button is right next to the space-bar…really annoying

Quick Reply pwns all
January 20th, 2009 at 8:10 am
OK… major bug i’ve noticed! If you get several text messages in a row and don’t want to reply to them and hit “close” on the quick reply screen to all the messages the phone ALWAYS crashes to safe mode!

Help! I just unfortunately downloaded 2.0.7.4 without reading the changelog. It crashes everytime I type a text & hit Send. It appears to send the text but the app now crashes. I have reported this to support. Wish i had read the Dev’s site first. It says DO NOT DOWNLOAD 2.0.7.4. there is a bug that may make the keyboard not pop up. The code has been fixed & a new version has been sent to the repository but it will be some time before it shows up in Cydia. Is there anyway to downgrade to 2.0.7.3? Also, anyone else think the QuickReply field for the received message is too small?
January 22nd, 2009 at 3:39 pm
2.0.7.5 has been released. it fixes the bug and runs like a champ! Thanks SpiritofLogic!!

i downloaded this new version, and for some strange reason,i used my normal iphone sms app,and when sending,it did not complete, then it started to show -3 on it.
Can anyone help me out with this, much appreciated.
App is awesome, but not sure why it was conflicting, maybe i am the only one with this problem or did someone else on here have the same problem.
Thanks.

what i hate about the app is its UI. it’s so ugly and doesn’t seem to blend in with iPhone’s UI. SMS sender’s name should appear in bold letters!
also, the blue Send button, why the heck is that so tall??? i hope they should make it like the MobileSMS that the textbox is just one line and auto stretch when more text has been input.
i have MCleaner installed so the quickreply is useless. bad.
i paid for this app so please the guys responsible for this, FIX THOSE BUGS / UGLINESS!!!

This app keeps crashing every time I send 5 or 6 texts. Like someone else above I noticed that my available memory is down to 11 MB. iRealSMS is really slow to restart most of the time even though I have it set to run in the background. Also the Send button is too close to the spacebar and I have also noticed that I will be typing in the QuickReply window and it will just send the message in the middle of my typing. That may be me accidentally hitting the Send when I meant to hit the spacebar. I would prefer to have a bigger QuickReply incoming text window like the the original 2.0 version. When the text field size changed to 1 line it really made it hard to scroll thru the message with bigger fingers and my online option is to hit close. I would prefer to go back to the original window that also had the Open button so you could jump directly to iRealSMS instead of having to hit Close and then hit the iRealSMS icon and wait.

Ok so it’s been 10 day since I updated to 2.0.7.6 and even though I own a license I am getting the “from iRealSMS demo on iPhone” when I use only the quick reply. If I open up the app and respond to the text it’s going through just fine. Anyone else having issues?
January 28th, 2009 at 6:38 pm
4 other members on my site (modmyi.com) have reported having the same problem starting today. This is now a known bug. Hope it gets sorted out soon!

Update last night fixed this bug. Thank you :)
February 2nd, 2009 at 4:55 pm
Real problems since the 2.2.1 update, quick reply wont work and the message number on the icon never updates after a message has been read.
February 4th, 2009 at 11:56 am
I bought this a while ago and got rid of it for these reasons, I really hope they get fixed..
1, Takes too long to load large conversations.. Should only load a portion as the Apple Text app does.
2, Load times are a lot. If this has been fixed at the cost of 15mb of ram then I probably still won’t use it.
3, Unread message count seems to always screw up. Last time I uninstalled the app I had a negative unread count of over 100. I had to copy off the sms.db and run a query over it to set everything as read.
I love the concept of the app, along with things like quick reply but until it proves to be a stable, reliable piece of software I won’t be using it again
