ShakeToUnlock allows you to unlock your iDevice by shaking gestures, even if your device is sleeping. Or just undim it, which is great for LockInfo or Cydget users.
Many users have requested such an solution and unlike others ShakeToUnlock works even when the screen is off; unlock whenever you want. It’s utlizing technology some great technology. A toggle for SBSettings is included.
To reduce accidental unlocks ShakeToUnlock has settings to adjust the sensitivity and the time the device has to be still until you can attempt an unlock or even make it only use a 2-Shake-Gesture: 2 clearly sepperated Shakes which occur within in 3 secconds. As default ShakeToUnlock will override the Passcode, but you can change that too.
Make your device behave a lot cooler and show off it’s new features!
Available in CydiaStore for just $0.79 (introductory price)!
Features:
- unlock your device via shake gestures (one or two shakes)
- unlock all the time: stays alive even when your screen turns off
- low battery comsuption
- Override Passcode if you wish
- Just undim: great for users of LockInfo or Cydget
- 5 settings for shake-sensitivity
- a toggle for SBSettings is included
- and more

Sounds cool. Will check it out. The only thing I’d be worried about is it unlocking while I’m walking with the iphone in my pocket. It is shaking, so it would unlock and thus drain battery?
Great idea though.

that should help. I know it’s no guarantee against accidental unlocks, but it makes them way more unlikely. Also you can use the SBSToggle if you are going for a run or so.

compliments beautiful idea, but is activated very easily I suggest you add an option for the active LockScreen in order to make the screen shake off, shake is activated and the screen mode LockScreen, option mode prevents LockScreen, the accidental shake in my pocket, add this option in the next version, please

hi there, maybe you don’t know, but Circuitous + Activator is capable off such tweak(I think it has no effect when on sleep mode).
just go to Activator menu->Anytime->shake device->Circuitous(cycles through open apps).

I am using lockinfo with cydget (also have activator installed, but no action for shake)
Enabling shaketounlock can undim the screen but the phone went back to sleep in a few seconds even when I am interacting with lockinfo
Also, when I use double-shake to unlock, the screen undim and show a slide to turn off slider an cancel button on top and bottom of screen.
It is just not working as I expected. :(

1. lock in statusbar after unlocking without overriding the passcode but not immediate passcode-request set
2. power-down view in combination wit LockInfo, double-shake and just undim

Add an (3s or 5second) and dim the lockscreen option mode to prevent the accidental shake in my pocket if that’s appear this option will auto.off the lockscreen again in my pocket…Please notify it…i find that problem that’s (the accidental shake in my walking will turn the lockscreen on but don’t auto off the lockscreen again in my pocket so let my battery to run off….)you can test in your hand….shake to activated then keep shaking as similar walking ….the lockscreen just off after around 30s …so my battery is …..

Still having a little problem with the updated version. With just undim on, when I shaketounlock, the device undim and show my lockinfo, but then it acts like the home button was pressed and sends me to the 2nd cydget (which is the cydialer).
This doesn’t happen if doubleshake is enabled.

Yllier is it compatible with mCoolPhone? I used a shake to unlock before but when someone call me and I shake my iPhone to answer the call shake to unlock blocks the call and that is annoying

Hi – I purchased this app last night and no matter what settings I try it only opens from the lock screen. When asleep it won’t do anything.
I have Infinidock, SBSettings, Winterboard, ProSwitcher,SBRotator & Shrink installed. Perhaps one of them are conflicting with STU. I really hope the dev sorts this out quickly. Next time I’ll try a cracked version first, B4 I push the ‘Purchase’ Button. Anyway I’ll see what he does and how soon. I do realize its a first release, and any new app that meddles with the system will most likely spit out errors with some iPhone configurations. He can’t test every possible configuration of apps and settings. Anyway back to MY problem, maybe Limneos could suggest the settings I could try as I will reinstall it if he thinks it should work with my 3GS 3.1.2

Sorry Yllier, I got my pages mixed up and thought Limneos was Author of Shake To Unlock.
April 3rd, 2010 at 5:49 am
Hi Yllier I think I have slorted it out. I found that if I use Quicklock to close my screen then STU doesn’t work, but if I allow the device to close the screen itself, then STU works. Is this normal and if so can you make it work with Quicklock. Thanks.

Strange, love this little tweak, but there seems to be a battery drain issue. My 3GS 3.1.2 blackrained phone emtpties 25% over a night with this tweak installed… Uninstalling the shake to unlock resolved into normal 5 – 8 battery drain over night.
anyone else having the same problem?
April 4th, 2010 at 2:24 am
Yeah, I just thought, that I could experience that, too!
But my battery (3GS 3.1.3) lost ~70% in 10 hours!
I’ve now uninstalled it again and want to test, if it was the cause!
But it propably will, if you just think abouthow it works, it’S clear, that it needs energy when the iphone sleeps, because it has to check if there’s movement…

yes, true, but a-movement-check can’t possibly drain a battery in a few hours, so i’m thinking more in the line of: that is keeps the iPhone awake, rather than checking for movement.
I’m a real tweaker, there are no extra deamons running on my phone, i even deleted all launchdaemons i don’t need. i don’t even use push, no winterboard, nothing, so i’m pretty sure my battery bleeding was caused by shake to unlock….

Gee thanks for the quick response Yllier
It’s only been 3 days.

April 8th, 2010 at 8:05 pm
Hi Yllier, have you been able to make S.T.U compatable with Quicklock yet, if not are you intending to make it work in a future update. I have purchased it but have had to uninstall it due to this little quirk. Would really appreciate your feedback. Thanks.

Hi, I have been trying to install STU several times but the repo is giving me an error. Everything else in BigBoss repo installs just fine. Is there any wrong with the APT package?

How u add da jailbreak

This consumes battery. The point is: is it worth it?
The good thing is it increases buttons life.
