SBSettings SDK update v1.1

Author: BigBoss  //  Category: Apps, Development

I have updated the SBSettings SDK guide to document the new invokeHoldAction function that allows toggles to trap a held action by the user for special menus. For example, one use would be in a wi-fi toggle to allow the user to select the APN.

Does this bring us any closer to a VPN toggle Boss? I am still waiting patiently and watching the site daily for an update. I would be happy to help in any way I can. I can set you up a test account on our VPN server…

I can’t seem to find a way to add the Gallery or the Camera app to my SBSettings Dock, don’t spose there’s a fix for this? I’m about to try a reinstall.

    Fingers Crossed!

I’d also love to see vpn toggle !

I log into our VPN about 6 x per day and it kills me that there’s no quick shortcut.

Is it possible to delete an added toggle? I added two that don’t work, but can’t get rid of them.

I’d love to see a toggle to disable the phone from connecting to edge, forcing 3G only. Quite a few people, like myself, in the community experience problems with the phone being handed off to an edge signal when there is definitely a 3G signal available.

I do not know which file (or if it even edits a file) the current sbsettings 3G/Edge toggles edits but disabling edge (with internet still active) and forcing 3G connections only can be done by editing “GsmRegistrationModel::fRatSelection=0×1″ in “/var/preferences/csidata” with these values: “0×0(EDGE ONLY), 0×1(EDGE+3G), 0×2(3G ONLY)”

Could anyone possibly create a toggle to go from “0×1″ to “0×2″ or maybe tell us how to edit the way sbsettings currently toggles edge so when we turn off edge it actually disables the phone from connecting to edge and allows 3G only, along with internet?

This would help quite a few members of the community and would be greatly appreciated.

I did not know this was possible. That would be awesome!(but not as awesome as a VPN toggle) Mine switches all the time where I know 3G is available.

Yea its possible. I Found this hack, I just wish someone would create a toggle for it.
    It works like a charm.

I would love to see a way to change the order of the toggles so they aren’t in alphabetical order. I really want the first row on top is only brightness, fast notes, processes, and iMC. It would make picking out specific toggles a lot easier and faster.

I would also LOVE to see a Safari DL toggle for SBSettings!

    Keep up the great work!

We need this and BACKGROUNDER to work for OS 3… I am sooo frustrated with iPhone without those two apps!!!

Please see the csidata modification (many users are talking about), and add a toggle in SBSettings to switch the registration mode (0×1 / 0×2). It´s too easy, very simple and works modification. I´ve made the mod using a Iphone´s text editor, choosing the target file (/var/preferences/csidata) and changing the value manually. (note: after saving the file, you need to reboot your iphone to do effect).

thxs, and sorry my bad english, i´m brazilian.

Did a reinstall work for anyone trying this? I’m having the same problem. Camera simply isnt in my application list.

Hi, I also have problems with spotty 3g coverage.
Toggle for forcing 3g would be much appreciated.

details for a kind of dirty trick:

Don’t know if that can be accomplished without requiring reboot. I have read somewhere that CommCenter only needs to be restarted after making changes to csidata, not the whole phone.

If someone produces a working Edge toggle using the method I previously posted, I will send them $20 via paypal.
